First Shetland Spiritualist Centre.

Monthly meeting for Spiritualist Development and Healing.

Held in the Freefield Centre Lerwick, doors open at 7pm to start at 7.30pm, Healing available by registered SNU healers, to be followed by Spiritualist development, then Tea, Coffee and bikkies at the end, to wind down before heading off home again.

NEW DATES for 2009, monthly meetings will be held mostly on the first Wednesday of the month in the Freefield Centre Lerwick from May onwards, with the exception of 12th August and 9th September (these are the second Wednesday of the month).

Entrance fee of £3.50 for the development class to cover our costs etc, donations for healing are always welcome, however this service is free to anyone.

If you are interested just turn up or ring me (or pm me) for further details. Wear comfortable loose stretchy clothing and you can work bare feet or wear those slipper socks with the rubber bits underneath.

Every Wednesday evening from 6th May to 15th July (a block of eleven classes).

Grab your picnic blanket and some food to share and meet at the Eid football pitch around noon to share in a great big outdoor buffet! Bring your barbeque, a giant cake, your football/kite/toy car what ever you want and come and meet your neighbours and have a fabulous time!

I am taking bookings for ballet classes beginning after the August holidays commencing at the Islesburgh Centre. I take children from 4yrs to 7yrs for the first class and 8yrs to 16yr for the second class. These are on Saturdays starting at 1015am to 1130 then the second class 1145 to 1300.

A Message From The Walk Leader

Purpose of the walk

The walk is free and is a social photography event where photographers of all ages and competence join together to walk around, shoot photos, and generally have fun with other photographers. Whether you have a Box Brownie, single-use disposable camera or Digital SLR then, as long as you’ve got an interest in photography, I’d love to have your company on 18th July. 

Photo Walk Location Details

Spiggie is home to some of Shetland’s finest scenery and, being an RSPB registered site, also blessed with a multitude of wildlife.  Whether you enjoy taking landscape photographs, or you are interested in wildlife, there should be something for everybody on this walk.  Here is a brief list of potential photographic opportunities:

• Spiggie Beach - stunning sandy beach
• Peerie Spiggie - beautiful voe
• Spiggie Loch
• View across the sea to Foula
• Wild Flowers
• Wide range of ducks
• Tirricks (Arctic Terns)
• Arctic Skuas
• Oyster Catchers
• Curlews
• + much more

I’m hoping, if time allows, that we get the opportunity to explore the cliffs where we will get some great views of the loch, Peerie Spiggie and may even see some puffins.

Post-Shooting

The photography will last for two hours from 11am-1pm.  At 1pm the plan is to head up to The Spiggie Hotel where we can share our photographs with each other over a spot of lunch or drink (or both!).

Demonstration of Clairvoyance by Jackie Wright from Middlesbrough, to be held in the Freefield Centre in Lerwick.

All welcome to attend, come along and see for yourself.

Doors open at 6.45pm for a prompt start at 7.30pm. Doors will be locked prior to Starting, so please come early to ensure a good seat, limited numbers of seats available, so we apologise if we have to turn folk away once the hall is full.

It's really good to see Jackie coming up to visit us in Shetland again, to carry out a demonstration of medium-ship and clairvoyance, Jackie is a renowned and very popular medium, she has visited Shetland several times in the past, due to her very busy schedule Jackie hasn't been able to visit us since 2006, so we are all very much looking forward to seeing her again.

Jackie will also be taking a workshop on Sunday the 12th (please see the events page for the 12th for info), private sittings/readings will be available by Jackie on Tuesday the 6th from 10 am to 12pm, from Wednesday 7th to Saturday 11th from 10am to 4pm each day.
