The lovely boys at ITS (next to what was Smith and Harpers) eased my considerable frustration and prevented me committing violence, by giving my laptop a good seeing to. £60 well spent, highly recommended if you are suffering a chuggy computer.

To be fair, that's the first move they've made since the extension was put up (afaik). When I lived south my local Sainsbury's used to move stuff seemingly on a monthly basis. Got to say the Tesco rearrangement doesn't seem very logical as they've had to split up some stuff that you'd expect to be in the same aisle. No doubt there's a method to their madness Oh yes, Christmas is a-comin'

Sadly the Co-Op lost my vote this week thanks to a ignorant member of staff. I said "Good afternoon" he grunted, I said "bit quiet in here today" his grunt was barely audible, I asked "Have you got any canvas bags" by this time I thought I had gone deaf (but I recognised his gorrilla like attempt at pointing me in the direction of said bags). As I was paying another customer came to the counter only to be rather rudely told "Closed". Civility costs nothing.

I think you'll find this thread is called 'excellent service' - I'm sure you will find numerous other ones for moaning and slagging off staff. Customer service in the Co-op can be an adventure, but it's more fun than the ruthless efficiency of Tesco.

They are repair agents for several well known manufacturers so even if someone didn't purchase an item from them, no doubt they get paid for repairing an item which is under warranty/guarantee:-

A small shop will and should prioritise its customers, not those who ship in an appliance from Argos then run to them when it breaks down. We need to look at value in the round when we buy, and it is time we realised that if we don't use local shops, we lose them and all the extra value that goes with them. If GRs choose to fix appliances they haven't sold, that is fine, but I don't think they need be held to account by tedious chancers moaning about their consumer rights.

If you buy a piece of electrical equipment from anyone but GR's and it breaks after the warranty has ended then absolutley GR's should refuse to have anything to do with it, whether it's a brand they sell or not.

If it's within warranty I SUSPECT they would have a contractural obligation to fix an item.

I'm sure they probably have full support from the suppliers whose products they sell on what they fix and what they don't.

Some of you keyboard warriors really need to pull your heads out of your backsides and get out your houses a bit more, instead of coming on here a continually bringing down local business, especially the one's that obviously put in huge effort to please their customers. Personally I feel sorry for them, because you just can't please all the morons no matter what you do
