  2. https://myshetland.co.uk/another-equine-expert/ - it's all go here.
  3. ^Yes, for me it's cheaper - and I have more control over just what I pay. There were two Dimplex Quantum's in here when I moved in and they're still here, doing the same job. The only difference is the rate I pay for the electricity I use and the time it charges them up. All other electricity I use when charging the Quantum's comes in at the same cheap rate. Have a look and check it out. Octopus

  5. https://myshetland.co.uk/the-visiting-equine-vet/ thankful we have the experts.
  6. have you found it to be cheaper than SSE/OVO since you switched? do you use the Quantum storage heater?
  7. ^Was on THTC but since the change it's been a single smart meter, but all electricity supplied between 12.00 midnight and 07.00 GMT comes in at 15p per kW hour. Good reason to run the washing machine overnight. The storage heaters charge up on the cheap rate too.
  8. when you signed with octopus, did you have THTC or were you on a single meter?

  11. ^Here in Hillswick, I've changed over to Octopus and it all works for me. Six or seven weeks after signing up with them a guy put the smart meter in and it seems to do a good job. A better job than SSE ever did for me.
  12. is there anyone up here with THTC and a smart meter that works switching on the water & Quantums on the cheaper rate ok after removing the Teleswitch? After listening to radio orkney and doing a bit of reading up, my understanding is that we need a LAN 'Local Area Network' signal before a smart meter can work properly, and we don't have a signal up here. It's not Broadband that they use. Or have I picked it up wrong? There's no map of LAN signal coverage, and they did say there were problems picking it up in 'the North' - of England!

  25. Does anyone know anything about fiddles made by Alec Leask? I heard one being played and I love the sound, I’d really like to buy one. I read that he owned a fiddle shop in Lerwick in the 60s and made them also. There’s very little information about him online. Online he is called by Aly, Alec and Alex. Full name is Alexander William Leask. Even though I’d like to buy one, I’d be interested just to talk to anyone who knows of any of his. Hopefully hear something back Cheers
