Colin
At the Market Cross https://www.shetnews.co.uk/2020/09/06/police-appeal-to-parents-after-large-group-of-youths-gather-in-centre-of-lerwick/ Says it all really but, what kind of parent(?) allows their "kids"(?) to be out drinking on the streets at 2am? Also, as the article explains, we are still under some kind of rather confusing "lockdown" (aka quarantine/house arrest) rules so, that also asks some questions of the parents. It might have been subjected to a little "over enthusiastic" reporting, but the fact that the local Police decided to disperse them is worth noting. Maybe they (the Police) couldn't get any doughnuts at that time of the morning and needed to do something to relieve the boredom ? Just wondering... Ghostrider
Its been a slow news weekend....... Had it happened at any other time than during a time of mass public hysteria driven by the media and fanned by pandering politicians and public bodies, plod sending a collection of pissed up teens 'hame ta yer beds' in the sma oors would barely have been noticed by anybody. Colin
"Westinster comes to mind, whether or not......." Er, I thought that Hollyrood (Krankie & Co) made up the local(?) rules re Lockdown. ? Can't quite see how you can blame this on Westminster... unless, of course, you think that Hollyrood slavishly follows Westminsters dictats... ? Just wondering ... BTW; Just where is "Westinster". NullVoid
Seems as though improved hygiene and modern medicine has both reduced the number of people who died within the first 2 years of their lives and given a chunk of people unnaturally long life. Funny how we are having different rules for different age brackets, Seems like everybody is being punished for rescuing the vulnerable who otherwise wouldn't have made it. if the justification for endless lockdown is to protect the elderly wonder if "we" are going to start locking down over normal flu or the next mild cold that pops up, its all government edict and countries with no or less severe lock downs have negligible difference anyway. I expect organized crime outside of parliament to be a much stronger political force in the UK in the next decade since they can now recruit even better talent that would normally go legit and have much more customers due to the imminent great layoff and tsunami of evictions filling up the slums,Less people will have the opportunity to earn extra money doing something Legit but people will still have the same desire to work that they ever did. Invest in the building of bookies and casinos they make a mint during recessions and that's what Manny of the shut down businesses will be converted to over the coming months. NullVoid
2 strategies herd immunity and lockdown. One is to contain the spread while the other lets it spread and the population adjusts to it. The morons decided to do both ensuring that benefits of both strategies were cancelled out. Shut down every dentist, pub, school and barber right at the start but ignore illegal border crossing unless helping them arrive chatter flight's from crowded airport's to import possibly infected worker units(the corporate farms who had flight's chartered for them can circumnavigate minimum wage by settling wages overseas and recoup funds by changing accomodation locals wouldn't need) despite putting half the country out of work. Better still masks and testing/quarantining arrivals to the uk were things they did AFTER all that HEIL NHS
Ghostrider
Never mind, only another 2-3 month of the current 'rona/BLM/we're aa doooooomed 'climate emergency' b/s to put up with, then it'll all be forgotten and we'll be left to pick up the pieces. By then the lot over the pond will know who their Prez is and we'll (hopefully) finally be fully 'Brexitted' taking the two main pots to stir out of the game. Until they decide to dump the next load of global panic scaremongering 'an asteriod killed the dinosaurs' on us......
NullVoid
What will happen first Leaving the European union or Ending of the Lockdown? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQB3VshqSQ8 theoretically Brexit can only be delayed a few more times although it still can be delayed albeit based on rules existing at the time of its last extension,Lockdown however has its rules created Ad Hoc and can be extended as many times as the Banks want it to be delayed. It actually looks like Brexit might be complete several years before the end of the lock down but they can still use the "because coronavirus" excuse to delay and it would be accepted without question. George.
^Thankfully, I didn't Colin. That's possibly because I didn't use the two words, "There" and "George", that really should have had a comma between them, but that's only pride.
