Colin
Checked both links. NO MENTION OF ANTHONY EDEN... UK NOT NAMED AS A SIGNATORY...
George.
In 1956 the British government announced that what is now known as the European Union should be called the Free Trade Area. I wonder why?
Colin
Maybe because Eden didn't sign anything ?ORpossibly, because they had established an equal trading zone with each other ? Does it matter what the Britsh Government decided what to call it when the Europeans, plainly, didn't agree.
George.
^Does it matter what the Britsh Government decided what to call it when the Europeans, plainly, didn't agree. IMHO, yes it does matter. There was no democracy at the outset, none whatsoever. Did Shetland want it, did Scotland want it, did anybody other than Westminster want it? Regardless, the EU loves to send the European fishing boats up here to strip our our waters bare, and who cares what the British governent come up with!!! Plainly, you care, otherwise you wouldn't keep on insisting that Anthony Eden signed the original EU Treaty, which he didn't...
George.
^Certainly, the European boats love to strip our waters. After all, they don't know what to do with their own, OSIB anyway.
