BigMouth
Am I alone in thinking that the water in Lerwick tastes like bleach smells? Mine is altogether different in the north mainland.
Urabug
Sometimes wonder why we buy parazone ,already enough in the water. It's very similar through Shetland, you are certainly not the only one..

Mine is altogether different in the north mainland. Would bet that the smelly water you come across in Lerwick is caused by a bit of pollution. We're lucky in Northmavine where the water is good, clean and fresh. Keep the pollution away.
Ghostrider
LK is essentially a stagnant puddle of surface run off, mostly off peat, it can be made 'clean' with the addition of chemicals and artificial filteration, but its never going to make it exactly the same as naturally filtered and purified water from a good spring, which is often exposed to lower temps, various minerals, reduced oxygen etc for much longer periods.
