Fisheries College funding - conflict of interest?

Very recently Sandy Cluness has declared that he recieves £5,000 a year from the Fisheries College as chairman of the board of the college.

We also know that the college is funded by the council and the various council trusts.

I wonder whether Sandy ever declared either in the council or in the trusts that he was being paid by the college. If not, he would have taken part in the discussions, insisted that the college gets the money and used his authority as convener to get the college funded.

So, if you want your loss-making organisation funded, the best advise is to get Sandy on your board, pay him a yearly salary and he will get lots of grants in return.

Oooch, I see another conflict of interest coming on.

Its an epidemic.
