Mhari P
"How does shetland artists go about gettin a slot at the folk festival?" Hi, you need to express an interest about playing. Send a wee letter toLocal ArtistsShetland Folk Festival Society5 Burns LaneLerwick And we'll see what we can do from there. Please note thought, we are not in a position to guarantee a slot to all bands/artists that express an interest - particularly so in 2007 with it being a shorter festival. Cheers eenoo Mhari P.S Line up will be revealed in January hopefully and its looking pretty awesome!

Ally
Shetland folk festival veteran and all round geezer JP Cormier has to visit again ( I know I've posted this you tube clip elsewhere, but it deserves a second outing!) muddybay-kyebeoy
Fiddlers' Bid playing with JP Cormier at this years Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow. January 26th. He is amazing on guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and probably most other things. Love his songs too.
muddybay-kyebeoy
I'd really like to see the Foghorn String Band up in Shetland as I reckon they would go down a storm. Saw them near Cork in May and in Glasgow couple of months back and both times had the audience eating out of their hands.
tirvaluk
Tomblands wrote" Roddy Woomble with his folky album. That way you can rope in John McCusker and Kate Rusby too. " He played at the North Star with most of the album line up, to an empty hall.

AndyVocoustic
oohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! How exciting Mhari! Whoot! :tmbup; I got sent The Toy Hearts CD recently and its very good. Brilliant picking and singing on it (if a little to "clean/polished" for my taste at times) Shannon also! :tmbup; Hopefully I can make it up again this year! Mary black and Terrafolk I can't wait to see, hopefully they won't clash or clash if I'm playing anywhere... which shall be amusing this year as I'll have an eversopregnant belly by then! 8O
