Commodore
I'm not saying that everything is rosy. Just trying to pick out a few positives. Where the Rangers are concerned my glass is always half full despite others attempts to tell me its half empty. I also expect (and some would demand) major purchases during January to boost the squad. Unlike last season I also expect Rangers to be within touching distance, if not actually at, the top of the table at that time. Yes, on current evidence you would think that Rangers are more likely to continue their bad run. However, history shows that runs of poor form like last season are rare, which is why Rangers have won 51 league titles. nah nah rangers will lose their next match against st mirren and then they will be 13 points behind the celts! thats all history, rangers are rubbish these days so u cant just kept referring to past glories
Stan
Regarding the Letizi v McGregor situation, based on what I've seen I would have kept McGregor in. He is the man in form. However, having heard a few of his comments in the press over the last few weeks I'm not sure about his attitude and respect for the club and the management. Fair enough, they might be messing him around a bit but he should be glad to be part of the Rangers squad - thousands would love to be in his position. If he wants to leave he should just play to the best of his ability for the 1st team or 2nd string and somebody will come in for him in January if he thinks he's that good. Also, we don't see what goes on at training. There may even be some kind of clause in Letizi's contract to say he has to play at least a certain percentage of first team matches when fit. Who knows? junior
We are pretty horrendous just now. You only had to watch the first 20 minutes of Hearts v Hibs at the weeked to see that other teams play with the kind of desire and enthusiasm that Rangers can only dream of. That said I do think that we have better players than we have in previous years and so we will get better. Maybe we are just suited to a more European style of play now and so that is where we are concentrating our efforst As for McGregor v Letizi: they are both pretty good, thats all. Neither has had the kind of performance that would cement them as a number 1 keeper in my eyes.
Tomblands
thats all history, rangers are rubbish these days so u cant just kept referring to past glories Quite a poor argument really, every team is perfectly entitled to refer to their past glories. Need I remind you that Aberdeen are still the last Scottish team to win a European trophy, and the only Scottish team to win 2 European trophies. Assuming you're a Smeltic fan, you're the last one's to preach about referring to past glories, e.g. 1967 and the Lesbian Lions and all that! If you're not a fan of the sporting wing of the IRA, my apologies.
markj
'If you're not a fan of the sporting wing of the IRA, my apologies.' Bang out of order with that one Stan. Quite easily the worst post i've read on here.

JVRTENNENTS
It's Difficult for a loyal bluenose like myself to be positive at the moment but I am upbeat about the situation. Unlike a certain mob that start throwing Mars bars at their directors when the going gets tough or are known for regular car-park demonstrations or go in the huff when beaten by Caley Thistle, who finished 6th in the 1st Division that season, and were described as 'minnows' and 'tiny' Caley Thistle! - a wee link as a reminder - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sport/football/636000.stm Of course, ICT beat the same team in the cup 3 years later, the same season that Thistle finished 4th in the 1st Division. I think the Super Caley etc. headline was more appropriate back on either of these occasions. Reasons for being positive from a Rangers viewpoint? Let's try these for starters: After 10 league games last season we were 4th in the league with only 2 more points than we have now. At this stage last season, Rangers only won 1 of their next 7 league matches - drawing 4 and losing 2. This is unlikely to happen again. At this stage last season I couldn't see how McLeish could pull us out of the rut. I have a much better feeling that Le Guen can do so. We have been playing better football this season than last - at times. We have Kris Boyd - Celtic have Kenny Miller! (His goal against the Gers and Knackered Motor's heroics at the weekend was a flash in the pan). Not that 2nd place is acceptable for a club like Rangers, but for the sake of comparison, this time last season Rangers were 6 points behind the second place team, this season we are only 5 points behind 2nd place. This time last season we were 9 points behind top of the table Hearts and nearly caught them even after having the bad run mentioned above. Who's to say we can't catch Celtic. All it takes is for the 'Whoops' to have a couple of bad results, which is highly possible, and they're back with the pack. The last and best reason for being positive? We can live our lives in the knowledge that 'We are the People'! We are the People!, that cracks me up every time I hear it! Thanks for a good laugh Stan! moorit
thats all history, rangers are rubbish these days so u cant just kept referring to past glories Err,... so if Celtic supporters don't bother about history, why do their supporters fly the flag of another country when the vast, vast majority are Scottish, born and bred? Where did he say Celtic fans don`t bother about history? He was commenting on the fact that Stan was going on about rangers winning 51 titles i.e. past success! Why mention the flyin of the Tri Colour at Parkhead, why mention that the majority are scottish, if you said about celtic winning the european cup or how many league titles etc I could understand where you were coming from in relation to that post! But if your going down that route I`ll ask you why do rangers fans fly the Red Hand of Ulster, Union Jack, some even wear england shirts, when the vast vast majority are Scottish! Stan
But if your going down that route . . . I'd rather you didn't go down that route. That argument has been flogged to death elsewhere. Let's keep it to how fantastically brilliant and superb and out of this world Shellick are and how they are going to demolish Motherwell on Saturday!! moorit
The biggest laugh is that a great number of Scottish Celtic fans are so absorbed in all things Irish that they only drink Guiness, listen to U2 or The Pogues , watch their team in an Irish theme bar, and give their kids Irish names like Sean or Keiran !! Sound familiar ?
