Guest Anonymous
And its not "nagging" peeriebrian ... it's knowing better Exactly tlady I'm afraid that all to many of us men folk actually need a good bit of "Knowing Better" from our women folk, every now and then. Well, when it comes to our health, anyway. I for one am delighted that Oddie knew better than me, on this occasion. When it comes to cancer, there seems to be a lot of publicity and awareness of certain cancers, and particularly ones which affect women, so perhaps women have a greater insight into being watchful for possible warning signs. trout
Good gyan! Aa da best tae dee for da future! [...] perhaps women have a greater insight into being watchful for possible warning signs. This is a semi-cultural point. Woman have to go through much more very very personal 'things' when at the doctor - on a more regular basis - as do us fair 'hardy?' male creatures! Could it be said that brings out a problatic 'issue' for 'us' being examined to bring up underlying issues; a lack of 'wanting' to be seen perhaps as 'wir no wint we'it?'! JohanofNess
All the best for a quick recovery AR. I had to get my tonsils out 4 years back thankfully mine were just heavily infected although that didn't stop the ENT specialist scaring the bejesus out of me suggesting it could be what you had, but it is best to get it checked out or who knows where it could have lead. williamlwynne
Thank you for being open about this. Raising awareness, which leads to catching cancers earlier, is clearly a good thing. Davie P
