High Res Digicam Idea

My digicam is 6MP but I want something better so I can have huge blowups. Would this idea work?

 

Buy a high res scanner, snap the lid off. Buy a portable honda generator to power it.

 

Point scanner at subject, press scan button.

 

I suppose for portraits the people might need to wear sunglasses.

I'm fairly sure you are joking but, just in case you're not, I'll share my experience of scanners:

 

They don't really seem to scan much that isn't directly touching the glass.

erm i doubt the focal length would be of any use on a scanner.. and unless you wanted pictures with lines across them you wouldnt be able to get a shot of anything that moves at all.

Fuji S9600

 

I use a Fuji S5600 and it's a decent enough camera for the price. Image quality is superb. Only draw back is a lack of a focus and zoom ring on the lens.
