Which search engine do you use?

I generally use http://google.co.uk , and http://uk.yahoo.com or http://uk.altavista.com for a second opinion

For more academic or heavyweight research, http://scholar.google.com is the business, or type "filetype:pdf", together with your search criterion into the standard google search window. Limiting searches to pdfs filters out a lot of dross

I don't use anything other than Google. I have the Google Toolbar so just use that the whole time.

It's more or less completely satisfactory for my needs. I should really start comparing with other search engines to actually see if that is the case.

Google probably have far too much information on me. I use their email and their calender service too. If they wanted me killed they could easily find me.

I use Everyclick.com :D because at least you can do a bit of good every time you use it. Select the charity of your choice and Everyclick will donate money to it on a regual basis. Even if you use other search engines get to them through Everyclick. The number of searches recorded is on their front page. All registered charities are listed alphabetically so it's easy. Go on give Everyclick a chance and stop lining the pockets of the already very rich!! If everybody used it...what a difference it would make. See RBST website for more details or search Everyclick. :P

Google is okay, but make sure you use the Advanced Search page if you don't want millions of hits for the query.

The worst thing is the eBay ads which instantly appear. The other day I googled on 'find NHS dentist'. Sure enough, "Buy find NHS dentist on eBay"!

Aaargh!

The web needs a way of switching commerce off when you just want info.
