I believe there was a review in the Times that week, mentioning the oil-slicked crowd (could have been about the time of the Braer). Whether it had anything to do with immense quantities of Guinness being poured over our heads I may never know.

Did anybody here go to the Vatsetter Open Air in Yell?

It was a few year ago, maybe 2000? I canna mind wha played at it but it was absolutely fantastic. It was so dangerous that they could only have it once. Ooh what fun.

Yes, I was there. Took Scalloway Hall's PA system with me.

Really enjoyed the night but the lasting memory was the barbecue.. Awsome..

Lots of bands on Sparticus, Death by Monkes etc.

Oh yes!, I was there!, It was Insertlabelhere's last gig, we were absolutely awful (we hadn't played a gig in nearly a year, were drunk and were never very good anyway) But we had an excellent time, a cold windy night If i mind right!. Bring back the Vatsetter Open Air, or as we called it Yellfest!

Oh, dear lord...I remember that gig

We (Spartikus Crumb) got carried away with it all and played in nothing but underpants  ended up sleeping in the wind house, the good old days???????

It's obviously left some deep scar in my psyche afore I can recall that!

What terrified me was just as the band (sparticus) got on stage a henny party arrived. Spent the next 30 seconds planning a quick getaway.

Don't remeber it being windy though. Thought it was quite a fine night.

Has everyone forgotten The Smiths at the Clickimin in 85?

Bit biased but the Durutti Column was one of the best for me.

Shooglenifty - their first visit to the Folk Festival when they were new and fresh.

Delgadoes in the North Star were great as well.
