A "soft opening", they'll need to get the Johnny Cash cover band back to play this on the first night at it then....

Seriously though, I hope it goes well, it had better given the tab. A handful of fiddlers isn't much of a test for it, but its progress and a start, the real test will be when its all in use at one time.

be a white elephant after 12 months.

Who gives a sharn about your constant negative trolling? Not me, and I highly doubt anyone else does either, so why don't you give it a rest and put your energy into something more worthwhile? Mareel is here, and it's here to stay, like it or lump it.

I am really looking forward to it. Hope they show films that will be released before they open e.g. THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN and possibly THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.

Seeing an advert for films due to be released has become so much more exciting as I'm sitting there hoping to be able to see them in Mareel! Roll on opening day! :D

I would pay several of my pounds to see Prometheus in cinemas.

They seriously need to consider doing movie festival nights. Like showing all of the Alien films or Star Wars films back to back like the smaller city cinemas do.

I'm led to believe that short specialist festivals (e.g. horror, sci-fi, etc) are absolutely a possibility, as are screenings of "classic" older films (of any ilk, from art house to blockbuster).

Shetland Arts are also very receptive to feedback from their audience - if you'd like to see PROMETHEUS in Mareel, drop them a line.

Cannot wait.
