Unlinkedstudent must be a very unhappy person as all she seems to do is complain and moan. Unlinked, why don't you just move back to wherever you came from as nothing seems to be good enough for you here. You would love it if Mareel failed because that's the type of person you are. You really are a sad case. Every thread on this site is full of your nitpicking and general cr@p. Please unlinked student, get a grip and try to be positive. Your attitude cant be good for your own health.

Mhhmmm, .... first post and its all complain and moan! Pot kettle

WTF for? Negativity for what is is motivation to create better.

Your attitude cant be good for your own health.

Can't comment on her's, I'll let her speak for herself, but being a negative, bitter, twisted, angry, vengeful, cantankerous, grumpy old git is my sole motivation to keep on living.

Now put your sock back in your sock drawer.

I'm quite happy, ta very much. If I want to complain about something, I will, in the hope that sometimes by doing so, a complaint can lead to something positive which, incidentally, happened in the last two weeks with Mareel's stance on disability discounts. As for 'moans', I can't help it if Ghostie has that effect on me.

Unlinked, why don't you just move back to wherever you came from as nothing seems to be good enough for you here.

I have no intention of moving, nowhere else is quite like Shetland. Besides, Ghostie is here.

Wrong. Incidentally, what type of person precisely am I then? Unlike you, I don't judge people solely based on what they write on an internet forum.

You really are a sad case.

Again, you don't know me.

Every thread on this site is full of your nitpicking and general cr@p.

Factually incorrect. I haven't posted on every single thread. Besides, what's wrong with actually dissecting and paying attention to detail?

Please unlinked student, get a grip and try to be positive.

What would you like me to grip?

Your attitude cant be good for your own health.

And yours is? When did you qualify as a shrink/GP?

This outfit ought never to have been involved in such a high value transaction with little or no prior experience in contracts such as this. What's more, the nonsence Mr Gibbons fed to the media in advance of the court judgement when he should have kept his mouth shut contrasts sharply with the contractor's understandable silence at that time and that speaks volumes. Where is this all going to end up? The pot is empty and a hell of a lot of £12 family tickets will need to be sold to keep this supertanker afloat! The pricing structure, for a start, is all wrong and cannot continue if there's any chance of this succeeding.

So, if you pay a builder to build you a house, and he manages to extend the job massively - so much so that you go substantially over budget -, it's your fault - even if you're not actually an architect, quantity surveyor or builder yourself?

Well, actually yes, the client is at "fault" to some (in this case, currently undetermined) degree. If the client is not competent themselves to have effective control on these things, it is their responsibility to hire architect(s)/surveyor(s)/contract adminsitrator(s)/whatever to monitor progress, liase with the contractor and eliminate, or at least minimise such a situation occuring.

That said, the allegation that the contractor extended the job "massively", is only that, an allegation, made by SA. No proof has yet been furnished. Insterestingly the contractor tells a very different story, so let us not lose sight of that old and often proven adage, "There are three sides to ever story, one from each side of the argument, and the truth". We await the latter. However, SA aren't exactly coming through this smelling of roses this far, given that they've been ordered on two seperate occasions by a court to pay the contractor a total of £375,000, which they believed they had every right to withold payment of.

Personally, I don't think I'd trust DITT to build a Lego set on time or budget.

While I am quite happy to admit that any company and/or contract can go "bad" at any time, I find your opinion quite surprising, given that the named firm has been a thriving and successful one for over 30 years, and has completed a number of sizeable and difficult contracts over the years, without the client in any any of them feeling the need for make significant public criticism.

Once you start secondary school you'll start to grasp basic concepts about the bilateral nature of contracts and the respective duies of the parties.

Interesting use of logic. Complete crap, but interesting logic nevertheless.
