Salmon
I have to say, I've never had a problem with Tesco until Salmon started posting here. How have any of my posts given you or other members of Shetlink a problem with TESCO ?
manxman
What other requirements do you suggest are needed for a country to be a country? The need to defend it's population, where is your Navy, Air force..etc.We pay the UK to do that. Why bother assembling armed forces from a population of 80,000 when you can simply hand over an annual fee to the neighbouring country? And by your logic, Costa Rica is not a country either, since it disbanded its army as it perceived it faced no external threats.

So, if you have a national dispute with Costa Rica over unpaid parking fines and your parliament choose to declare WAR on them, the UK government are duty bound to send troops on your behalf because you hand over an annual fee to the neighbouring UK country ........lol
Salmon
Think i'll stick to TESCO politics, nations paying protection money to nieghbouring countries on a scale smaller than US.. EU are a bit unreal.
Roachmill
No... the pro TESCO contributors don't see the point of trying to convince anti progress stick in the muds that they are better off with TESCO in Shetland.I don't really see anyone as either anti-progress or a stick in the mud. There's people voicing concerns and little has been done to address those... rather, they've only been made worse.Think i'll stick to TESCO politicsGo on then. justlookin
why would u need a navy or air force to be classed as a country and really, what does it matter? I've noticed from a few of your other posts that you are an argumentative "TROLL". You are clearly not capable of managing a supermarket branch and i dont know why the others have given you so much credit with regard to your intellectual capacity. Guest Anonymous
I have to say, I've never had a problem with Tesco until Salmon started posting here. If he is a member of staff, then attitudes like that will soon put customers backs up. He's doing a better job of lambasting Tesco than you are Auld Rasmie!! I'm absolutely delighted to see Salmon doing his best to kill tesco.I can be a belligerent old butthole at the best of times, but Lord knows, this guy is an expert.Think I'll email some of his posts to tesco management and see how long he keeps his job. Guest posiedon
I think the fact that Tesco coming to Shetland has generated such intense debate, speaks volumes, there was no such debate re any of the other supermarkets that have come and gone, I don't think folk here will tolerate their unethical practices, (or at least, I hope they won't) I will certainly never set foot in the place. PS. For those editorially confused: Laks = Salmon, but of course tesco will not stock Shetland Salmon, so they wouldn't know how good it is. Salmon - Ramsie makes a valid point, you being an employee of Tesco puts you in quite a precarious position when replying on this thread. Tesco's are open, and I'd guess doing rather well, the objectors on here are going to be swayed by any further debate or discussion on this BB from you or anyone else.I'd suggest you wind your neck back in for your own good and think long and hard about your replies. Admitting that you are a Tesco employee, these views could potentially be construed as Tesco's and not your own personal views.
Guest Anonymous
^^^^Infiltrator,, It's Rasmie, not Ramsie But, we don't need to waste bytes on Salmon. Once tesco get to see his posts he'll be joining the "Jobs wanted" thread.

TESCO
Tesco is in Shetland to make a profit as all businesses do, we are not here to profit from the Shetland trading position. Salmon is not and has never been a TESCO employee.

I used the term TROLL in the "online sense", It means a person who has no real agenda other than to annoy everyone and distrupt the flow of convesation.
