The important things ive been thinking of today..

Recommended Posts

The really crazy thing is that nobody has told these guys that the banana, as we recognise it today, is a sterile, domesticated hybrid which bears little resemblance to the form it was 'created' in. Colour, size, texture and shape have all been bred by humans.

Today's banana produces no seeds and must be propagated; there is genuine concern that, without the ability to evolve slightly, the banana is in serious danger of being wiped out by pests and disease.

The banana is therefore an argument in favour of evolution.

Eh? More like an argument that man can make a dead duck from a banana. Now there's something you don't get to say every day!

[Pea and ham from a chicken? Now that's cl-e-ver.]

Funnily enough i saw a documentry ages ago that pointed out that gorillas eat bananas by opening them along their length, ie in the middle of the curved bit, as they taste better this way. I tried it for a while, but my back started to get hairy so i stopped. It is easier though!

It supports evolution by demonstrating the need for a species to keep moving in order to avoid becoming a target for the parasites which are also evolving to find new niches.

If everything remained static, this problem would not exist.
