clockwatch
Hi,I think I read a while back in the Shetland Times that a new Internet cafe had opened up. Is this the case? I know the library has access on Mon and Thurs nights but can I surf the Net anywhere else in Lerwick during the evening?
Mcdilly-Willy
I think the old hjaltland office, on the corner of harbour / market street, was turned into one, I don't know any more about it.

clockwatch
ok i seem to identified 11 Market Street as the location of the Cafe - according to the LPA Yacht Visitors Guide. But no details on contact numbers or opening hours can be found anywhere!! Maybe it never got going but there was a piece in the paper about it last year. Surely someone will know
JustMe
Is what was the Ferry Inn still offering internet access?. And for men there is a barber with internet access at the foot of Hangcliff lane. For youngsters there is the youth information place at the cross and I think Islesburgh has some public internet access. Then there is perhaps the best of the lot. Our very own Shetland Library with computers free to use in the little annex bookable in 1 hour slots and a few computers within the library which are ok for quick e-mail checks. For people who are really desperate the tourist office has a public use computer aimed at tourists and I think they charge. As for Hjaltland I expect opening hours would be 9-5 M-F. Well when the Ferry inn closed for refurb then they got rid of the pool tables and were supposed to be putting in internet access. but i have never been in it since it changed to Beltrami's(spelling?) so not sure if it has computers or not
Roachmill
If you've got your own wifi enabled bit of kit I think you can by access to the "shetbband" access point covering central Lerwick. IIRC you buy bundles of minutes from the tourist info shop. Never tried it myself though so YMMV.
clockwatch
I don't think it is Hjaltland that are offering the Net access - it is just based in there old office. The library is excellent but it is only open two nights and these nights are not really suitable, hence my requirement for something other. May try this Beltrami

BigMouth
Support Training is likely to be 9 - 5 and will charge you. The library is free
