You would think having a little common sense, their manager(s) would have equipped them with more than just a notebook and pencil to remove said dog poo.

Surely if the council are having cutbacks they shouldn't be paying people to walk around in red jackets scribbling in notebooks, pretending to keep the place tidy.

common sense and the council rarely if ever go hand in hand

Young person 'Caught-short' at Gutcher and charged and fined.

Getting 'Caught-short' - isn't that what happens tae dugs as well?

So, Rover you're being charged (once again) and an instant fine is now levied.

Onywai, what's the Cops doing oot at 1.30am in Gutcher?

'Tikin A Leak' at dat time of day is ok, but den again I'm no langer 17. :)

i have noticed a lot more people not picking up around my area, i was confused as to why people have all of a sudden stopped. I have since been told that you can no longer get dogs bags from sic as they can no longer get them either. I suppose others are too stubborn to buy ones from shop!

^^ I doubt that SIC can't get them - there are loads of manufacturers of plastic bags. If they have stopped supplying them free of charge as a cost-cutting measure then that I can understand.

Totally agree Ghostrider - I find that the plastic bags some loaves of bread come in are just the right size!

Tesco Value Scented Nappy Sacks about 50p for 300 ... so anyone within reach of Tesco has no excuse for not having bags for poo picking ;) I actually get unscented ones at 9p for 100, but they come from Sainsbury's. Can't abide folk who let their dogs foul public spaces ... grrrr !

The free bags are coming to an end - any shops that still have them will not be getting new ones as they were supplied by environmental services and as part of cost cutting, they will no longer be supplying free bags.

I have had one of these for ages, it does the job effectively.

i dont mind what i pick up doggie poop with so long as its not bare hands! we also have scented nappy bags we use (not that the scent does much hehe) i do like to make sure that they are almsot like heavy duty ones though as i dont really want them to snap or burst when im swinging them about!

We come across dog extrusions all the time. So, taken from something mentioned here, I circle the offending pile with orange semi perm road marker, and it does seem to raise a few comments.

Folk who have commented seem to be in favour.

It also stops anyone walking through it as it is now highly visible.

Nothing worse than that nutty smell coming from your boots as the van heater warms them up while you are eating your Nutella pieces.

It may be a good sign that a bad smell follows you around, it sorta shows how lucky you are not to be smelling like that yourself.
