Twerto
Friend of mine has been looking into replacing his clapped out car, so we had a drive round the local garages, jsut to get an idea of what is about up here, and a Mondeo caught his attention, we didnt catch exact kind of mondeo ( ghia or lx etc ) but took note of the reg and price. Just done a quick search on autotrader at the similar kind of car. the one up here was 06 and priced £11500 ( don't know the mileage due to digital dial. ) the one on Autotrader was an Lx version 06 plate 12000 miles on the clock and priced at £8000. ( from a garage not private sell ) don't know about anyone else but I would quite happily pay the £250 it would cost me to get down there and pick up the car,, if it was me anyway. I just fail to understand why people buy cars up here.. if that is the sort of make up garages are putting on things. Edit: just done a search for Ghia and they come in at £10000 for similar milage and 06 plate

engineer21
hello all, i was reading through some of the form there and a few ppl have been saying 350 or 250 to get a car fae south well i just took mine away and back again with a berth in a shared cabin (much better now curtains added) for a little under 250.and anyone buying a car south wont have too pay for a car out the southbound journey so really not all that expensive. I bought my Foucs south a few years ago in glasgow from arnold clark and while i did get a good deal on the car and the car was in good nick esp underneth had never been underseald and was still in origial paint and was 4 yrs old worth buying south if u can. Arnold Clark however i would not deal with so quickly again! i did test drive the car but being as i hadnt driven for a few mnths and my other car was a escort i wasnt used with the car. about a week later while driving through glencoe in the snow!! the clutch went!! and i also had a intermitent spedeo problem causing stalling!! (good breakdown cover is worth it as norwich union breakdown paid someone too put the car on a truck and take it all the way too glasgow a good 3 hrs drive!) it was booked back into the same garage i bought it from and they fitted a new clutch, and tried fixing the spedeo problem i took the car back as i needed it a week later and tehn gave it back too them they had it 6 weeks trying too fix the spedeo and no joy after some trawling on the internet i found a few other cars with same problem and it was a 20quid speed sensor on top of the gearbox easy fix!!! so too sum up arnold cark dont sit well with me !!! but def buy south unless u get a good deal here
Malcolm
[mod]Thread merged from "Used Cars" to this new amalgamated thread[/mod]How is the market for used cars at the moment ?. I was thinking about trading in my Y reg Fiat Ulysses for a small 4x4 (Toyota Rav4 poss). But after hearing the trade in value they can "Stick it where monkeys stick all sorts of things". Realised my best bet is to buy and sell privately.
