trout
Just been watching Evil Dead II on the Sci Fi channel. I absolutely love the triology that is Evil Dead Sam Raimi hit the right note between horror / comedy / cheap as mince effects! and if it wasn't for Bruce it'd be a wholey different set of films. He truely makes them. I'll admit I just about p*ssed my pants when I was younger! as at that age they had the horror affect ! but watching them again and again, you really get to see what they were about. One of the funniest horror movies I have ever seen though is Brain Dead which is coming up in a few weeks time on Sci Fi... Australian zombie horror comedy! Excellent You have to watch that movie! peeriebryan
I don't really like horror films. If I'm honest, they scare me, and I don't find that to be a enjoyable sensation
trout
Seriously though, the films mentioned are your comedy type horror films with a great line of wit in them. You have just got to watch Braindead - you will laugh your socks off it is so daft and funny ... with blood and guts thrown in but in a "what?" sorta way... just plain daft. The part with his mother and the minister giving it the heave ho is just so wrong on so many levels it is hilarious! When I mention I was younger .. I mean like I was way way too young! Guest Anonymous
"Custard! I like a good custard!" "I kick ass for the lord!" "Sengia! Hes got the bite!" Much better than the king kong and lord of the rings stuff Peter Jackson has lowered himself to doing nowadays.
Njugle
Evil Dead II- "Groovy!" My absolute favourite film for many years (not now), looking back at it- what a showcase! Funny, horror, original, superb casting, fantastic cinematography, mocks it's prequel, mocks itself.......It is an all time classic. See that sequence where the "evil dead thing" makes him go flying off through the trees, until he hit's the tree and falls 8O The chainsaw, the hand....... Good choice, me old trout. Pooks
Evil Dead II is certainly up there as one of the best, as is Braindead. A couple of recent ones to add to the list would have to be 'Hostel' due to be released on 24th March over here and 'Evil Aliens'. Evil Aliens is your typical low budget film, very much in the same vein as Braindead. Worth watching just for the scene where they mow down a number of nutter aliens with a combine harvester complete with the infamous Wurzels tune in the background. moorit
I don't really like horror films. If I'm honest, they scare me, and I don't find that to be a enjoyable sensation No need to feel uneasy about that Bryan.I can't understand why people like to watch that stuff rather than a good comedy or romance. That's what makes me feel uneasy.
Njugle
Give me a good comedy any day, but how would you categorize eg. "Silence of the Lambs" It's the 'close to reality' horror that makes me uneasy. Ghouls, ghosts and far fetched freaks are a lot less scary than people can be. I'm glad that I don't live your life if you feel Silence of the Lambs is close to reality !! I like Charlie and Chocolate Factory, Finding Nemo, Grease, Sound of Music and Mary Poppins. Njugle
I'm glad that I don't live your life if you feel Silence of the Lambs is close to reality !!. Ok based on events that may have happened somewhere in the world though not my village, nor any others in the immediate vicinity I like Charlie and Chocolate Factory, Old or new? I liked old better. Gene wilder nailed it. "Pretty boy" was too pretty for Willy Wonka.

Yowe
Both the 'SAW' films made me and my man miss half of it because we we hiding behind cushions! Well worth a watch. There's a really scary mask in them.
turrifield
I thought 28 Days Later was a good zombie film and Shaun of the Dead is excellent
