Paris Hilton to jail or not to jail

Recommended Posts

Sorry Fjool. Once again, you and I are singing from the same hymn sheet, but........

People ranting on forum threads do nothing to alter the actuality of life. It seems to me that that people think that by ranting on bulletin boards or ringing 'phone-in' programmes that they may somehow affect life. Sadly, this is not the case unless, as in the Sakchai affair, a sufficiently large number are mobilised to create the desired effect.

2 possible ways to go.....

1) She should be treated the same as anybody else who did the same crime, showing celebrity does not mean special treatment.

or

2) She should be punished more heavily, as a celebrity who has "not set a good example" and so will be used to publicize the situation

I personally never thought or gave a hoot what affect my ranting had on people or life in general, I mearly see it as part of my anger management therapy.

If life followed my posts I would never suggest attacking Paris Hilton with a taser.

I would opt for a bullet in her cranium as a more surefire method for keeping her off me telly.

If, as the BBC article states:

The petition paints Ms Hilton as a role model who "provides hope for young people all over the US and the world. She provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives".
then surely she doesn't make for a very good role model by drink driving. Or maybe she just provides hope for drink drivers hoping to get away with it. Waste. Of. Space.

Very true.

The 'Upper Crust' have been getting away with crimes for centuries, because of who they are and the amount of money which they have. Most people realise that this is the 'standard response',shrug their shoulders and get on with life.

People doing nothing and accepting things because... well... that's just the way it is do nothing to alter the actuality of life either. Gimme a good rant anyday.

IMHO this sorry excuse for a human being should have had her butt slung in jail long ago.

She has asolutely no regard whatsoever for authority and absolutely no respect for her elders. She thinks that her wealth will buy her way though life and that others are on this planet for her amusement.

As far as I am concerned it is about time that the authorities clamped down of these poor little rich kids!

When I first saw the headline on Ceefax I kind of wondered how a Paris hotel could be jailed. Honestly I still know little (and care less) about this issue.

 That was my reaction too. Trouble is, the vacuous celebrities we are busily disapproving of do nevertheless influence a lot of "mundane" people. I'd go along with Carlos, double the punishment for setting a bad example!

If the local law says that driving while banned incurs a 45 day sentence then off course she should go to jail. You cant escape just because you are well known. As for the "no-one told me I was Banned" excuse! Does she really think anyone is going to believe that?

She's going down... for 23 days only though thanks to her "good behaviour".

I loved one comment: -

"Please don't blame this travesty of justice on the American people..... and in return, we won't blame you Brits for keeping Harry out of Iraq while our sons and daughters from both sides of the pond continue to be slaughtered by insurgents in a country we both should not have invaded."

:P
