Twerto
OMFG shock: how the {'f' it was funny in Father Ted 'eck'} can you gauge good behaviour after 3 days
Fjool
They already gave her the 'good behaviour' ticket before she went in. It's a carrot on a stick, that's all. I expect it can be whipped away if she doesn't behave. It was offered to get her in there without making any more fuss - i.e. come now and you have a stab at a lesser sentence; appeal, make a fuss and you'll get the full term. Hmm.... I just realise that was a link and, now that I read it, I see what you're on about. Relased? How...? Seems odd. She must have been very good indeed. Or very rich. Ghostrider
^^^ Your request has been granted. Paris Hilton was taken from a courtroom screaming and crying Friday seconds after a judge ordered her returned to jail to serve out her entire 45-day sentence for a parole violation in a reckless driving case. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070608/ap_on_en_tv/paris_hilton
Malcolm
Common sense prevails at last. No matter what your way of thinking on this subject is there is one thing to think about seriously. That is that if PH had been allowed to serve the remainder of her sentence at home because of a "health condition" then a precedence would have been set that could possibly have seen thousands of robbers, burglers, murderers, paedophiles etc etc etc go free by claiming the same rights. Jerry_Dammers
Is it overly cynical to suggest that she was let out because they suddenly discovered that she was famous, and then re-admitted when they found out what she was famous for. Sarah Silverman was right at the MTV awards about this waste of space. I'm aware that Paris probably speaks very highly of me as well, before anyone jumps on here to defend her. Admittedly, it was Sky News, but was there really any need for live camera coverage of her being picked up from her house and driven back to the court? Is there really that little happening in the world just now?

Mmm.... I seem to remember a UK parallel to this - the Guinness trial and the alzheimers that kept someone out of prison until of course they were released and had a miracle recovery. Its a miracle, pass me the No Nails please
sassermaet
Yippee, they put her back in and not a moment too soon. Not only that - she's in for the whole 45 days! Hooray!
moorit
^I can't understand why it seems to bother you so much whether she is in or out of jail. Is there a little green monster at work ?
DamnSaxon
And not only that, sassermaet ... she can't POSSIBLY claim Alzheimers! 6/10 for the weepies. Really not convincing. Think of it as your contact with the "real world", Paris, dear. Maybe it'll kick a little sense into you. But for now ...
Muppet
Moorit Not sure that I understand where you're coming from here. When 99.99% of the population commit a crime and get sentenced to jail, they actually have to go there. Just because daddy owns a hotel chain shouldnt be a card to 'get out of jail free'. If it was that would be real cause for concern. If the little green monster is at work, he's doing a damn fine job.
sassermaet
Why would I be jealous of a spoilt brat like her? She's so stupid! At least I can wipe my own @r$e without needing help from 'my people'! Thank god for normal upbringings, I wouldn't have it any other way.
sassermaet
Ocean's Thirteen star George Clooney has hit out at troubled hotel heiress Paris Hilton - accusing her of using "cheap tricks" to maintain her celebrity profile. Clooney believes the Simple Life star is a hypocrite for manipulating the press attention to create her current 'star' status, only for her to turn around and bemoan the media frenzy her recent legal troubles in relation to a 2006 drink-drive arrest have caused. He says, "You can only get so far without discernable talent - then you either work, or use cheap publicity tricks to keep the public's attention. "Paris has no reason to complain if she is on the end of bad publicity." Hilton was yesterday (07Jun07) released from Los Angeles' Century Regional Detention Center early and allowed to serve the rest of her 45-day sentence - imposed for violating probation - under house arrest. He's not far wrong either.
