Pleepsie
Now why would the British Police sanction bugging the McCanns unless they had good reason to do so? I believe they have to get the thumbs up from the Home Secretary first. http://news.scotsman.com/uk.cfm?id=1507092007 "THE parents of missing Madeleine McCann believe their mobile phones and emails are being bugged by British police, it was reported today. Kate and Gerry McCann are convinced buggings are being carried out on behalf of Portuguese detectives who suspect the couple accidentally killed their four-year-old daughter and hid her body. A key part of the investigation is said to concentrate on emails and calls between the McCanns and their friends. One source reportedly said: "There's a firm belief Kate and Gerry were listened to in Portugal and that it's happening now they're home. That belief is based on information they received during the investigation. KOYAANISQATSI
Dont worry, even Spokesman, Clarence Mitchell agrees with me on this one. If a request from the Portuguese authorities was made for them to undergo such a lie detector test, they would have no issue with it.we think it is extremely unlikely that such a request for a test would come through," he added.http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,91210-1285172,00.html If they take that test, whatever the result, I'd take back every post and ill thought I've had of them.Paypal a tenner to Shetlink, for wasting your time. And I'll eat my boots for good measure. KOYAANISQATSI
Chasing shadows if you think she'll turn up. Anyone serious about finding missing children might want to look out for one of these:http://news.sky.com/skynews/picture_gallery/picture_gallery/0,,70141-1271560-2,00.htmlsome who have vanished since Madeleine went missing are still unaccounted for - and have had their plight cast into her shadow. This gallery displays some of the children who are missingAt least there's a chance some of these are still alive. Pooks
It seems a shame that many people have gone missing in the same space of time yet get no tabloid coverage. The very same tabloid coverage could be contributing to finding at least ONE missing person. A whole lot more use than speculating on whether or not Gerry and the wife might or might not have done it. A worrying thing from this BBC report today is:- Much of the money has been spent on poster campaigns, private investigators and the McCanns' living expenses. I am all for the peerie lass turning up safe and well but do people realise that their contributions to save Maddie were paying for hotel rooms for her parents? spencey7
I'm all for the peerie lass turning up safe and well but do people realise that their contributions to save Maddie were paying for hotel rooms for her parents?Yes, I believe that they do - Wasn't that made perfectly clear when appeals for the Madeleine Fund began? Besides (effectively) printing posters, I thought that was the whole point in the fund - to enable the McCanns to stay in Portugal. Shame that the infamous photo didn't turn out to be Madeleine, but also a little disconcerting that it was a journalist from the London Evening Standard who tracked down the girl and her family, and not a Moroccan/British/Portuguese/Interpol police officer. I notice it was only after the news that it wasn't Madeleine, that you posted this I know I might be chasing rainbows that this poor peerie lass is still alive, and that whoever has her is treating her well.. But... Until I see concrete proof ... I will always hope... rightly or wrongly... That she will be found alive and well ... KOYAANISQATSI
I notice it was only after the news that, it wasn't Madeleine, that you posted this Your point being what? It didn't look that much like her, there must be millions of kids who could fit a photo like that and Madelienes dead, so I seen no reason to mention the photo of a complete strangers kid. I have not cared much for the media hype on any of this, I do hold the same opinion of many out there though. If it makes you dive into your purse, to keep the McCann's mini bar well stocked, that's your perogative. An £80,000 advertising campaign is to be launched with posters highlighting Madeleine's disappearance being distributed across Portugal, Spain and Morocco.Yet:I dont think having newspaper headlines or the image of Madeliene being thrust to people every single day actually may help. spencey7
I have not cared much for the media hype on any of thisAhem... Not even the week after the McCanns were declared "arguidos", and therefore legally unable to refute any of the (for the most part ludicrous) claims being made by the Portugueuse authorities, through the media? When you were quoting newspapers left, right and centre to the annoyance of most right-minded people? It didn't look that much like herCome off it. It was a photo taken from distance on a standard resolution camera, the magnified images were too blurry to distinguish one way or the other. It was a young child with blond hair, who did look out of place with the others in the family - Any more than that was impossible to tell.
spencey7
Question for KOYAANISQATSI - Let's just say Madeleine is alive. Barring advertising campaigns (posters, videos etc), what do you suggest should be being done to find her? Or indeed any missing child?
KOYAANISQATSI
you were quoting newspapers left, right and centre to the annoyance of most right-minded people? If you care to check through the thread, you will find nothing I have put in is from any tabloid headline and when I have used the links, it's to highlight Gerry or Kates quotes, if this has annoyed you, me putting in the crap that Gerry spews out, it is your denial issues perhaps that anger you, but please dont confuse yourself with right-minded people.
