Would you have left your kids alone?

Recommended Posts

Glad someone agrees wi me styles. My son came home fae college and says folk sooth are buying wristbands, tying yellow ribbons to things and releasing yellow balloons which is all well and good as it's keeping the case in the spotlight. But when this frenzy is over then I too think the parents should be answerable for their actions.

The parents have already lost their child. If this isn't punishment enough, I don't know what is. Really- what good is locking them up going to do, apart from deprive their remaining children of a family?

Where should we draw the lines of what is bad neglect and what isn't.

Say a car crashes in to you head on and everyone is all right except for the passenger in the other car who was an infant without any kind of seatbelt who got thrown through the windscreen and whose brains are now dripping off your bonnet. I would certainly be aware of the parents tragedy but I would be just as aware that they were the direct cause.

What if it was parents cooking crack and they nipped out for five minutes and a fire started which killed their baby who was in the room, would they be guilty of just cooking crack or would the public want the loss of the child held against them despite their loss.

If there are to be no lines to draw in the McCanns case are their any lines for any other case where there is the loss of a child involved.

As we have seen this situation is highly emotive with views from every camp good/bad, and yeah these parents have lost a child but they and we hope she will be found. I don't think locking them up is the solution but I do think they need to have something said / done over this.

Vernon Coleman tells it like it is

It's a tragedy whenever any child anywhere goes missing. But let me put this in perspective. TODAY ALONE, 24,000 people will die of hunger. Eight thousand people will die of AIDS. Today, 1.1 billion people don't have access to clean water. Forty-five (estimated) people will be murdered in America. Untold thousands will die in Darfur today.

Madeleine's parents deny involvement in her abduction

I dont want to be the one to make that capital mistake to theorise before one has data, but the more I hear, see and think about the whole thing the more fishy the whole thing seems.

Kate:

It was during one of my checks that I discovered she had gone. I can't really go into any details about that.

WHY?

K:

I think the guilt was, was very difficult. But I think as time goes on, erm, you feel stronger and we felt very supported from that point of view.

G:

I think erm, you know, we are not looking at what has been done and I don't think it helps at this stage to look back at what could and what couldn't have been done.

K:

I think at worst we were naïve. I mean we're very responsible parents.

OBVIOUSLY

G:

The times for these lessons to be learned will be after the investigation is finished and not now.

You know it's an ongoing investigation which has huge resources.

GETTING HUGHER BY THE DAY I IMAGINE

Q:

Looking back, I mean, did you see anything suspicious in the days leading up to her abduction?

K:

If we did we wouldn't tell you [laughs] because it may be important information.

WHAT OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION WOULDN'T YOU TELL US?

Q:

Do you ever, though, allow yourself to drift towards negative thoughts?

K:

I think in the early days we did and I think that's inevitable. I think any parent who has been through this does that certainly in the first few days. We don't now. We're actually a lot stronger, a lot more hopeful now.

PERSONALLY I WOULD BE GETTING MORE AND MORE FRANTIC

G:

we cannot grieve one, we did grieve of course we grieved but ultimately we need to be in control so that we can influence and help in the investigation.

In terms of the media coming here and us being prepared to some extent, use that to try and influence the campaign.

We pray that it doesn't happen again but when it does, the speed of the next response and the template we have set - and there has been so much goodwill and humanity out there that it really has restored, one evil act actually has resulted in so much good.

At the end of that first week there was so much emotion that we felt devoid, completely devoid of emotion. The analogy that I like to use is a bit like when we were students and you'd got to your overdraft limit and you'd gone beyond it and there was just nothing left in the tank.

Also, I think, physically and mentally were shattered but, you know, as we gradually got more on an even keel and we started to get back into the black and we'd also worked tirelessly behind the scenes to put support mechanisms in place including our legal team. The response with the fund which was really driven by offers rather than us thinking we needed it. And once these were in place then it helped us to focus on what we really needed to focus on.

CANT GRIEVE ONE. WE NEED TO BE IN CONTROL SO WE CAN INFLUENCE INVESTIGATION. PREPARED FOR THE MEDIA AND TO USE IT TO INFLUENCE CAMPAIGN. ONE EVIL ACT THAT HAS RESULTED IN SO MUCH GOOD"strange thing to say with maddy still missing".

And the one about your first born being abducted is just like going over your overdraft, just about capped it for me. Well at least their a bit more at ease now their back in the black it must be a hugh relief for them.

More disinformation from the team mccann:

-------------------------

A 'top psychic' traveled from south Wales to Portugal to help with the search for Madeleine McCann.

According to Diane Lazarus, she already knows where Madeleine isn't, the type of people she's with, how they've changed her appearance and that she will be returned safely.

Diane Lazarus told the Sun: "I don't think Madeleine is in Portugal and they have kept moving her around.

"I hope going to Praia da Luz will give me the leads to where exactly she went from there. I feel she could be in Spain .... I have also picked up that they cut Maddie's hair and made her look like a boy ... I feel there are a few people, including a woman, involved in the disappearance.

Diane will spend four days on the Algarve after being invited by a close friend of Gerry and Kate McCann.

This action is contrary to their Catholic faith.

From the BBC News site http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6755587.stm

One of the parents said: -

"Although all information will be taken seriously, we were very upset that the credibility of this letter had not been examined and, more importantly, [it was] published before the Portuguese police had an opportunity to investigate the claim, and search the area if appropriate without massive media attention."

I thought that massive media attention was exactly what they did want.

Oh yeah.....Big Mouth.. they really want dozens of folk tramping over a poss crime scene...

 True

I was judging the media like the rest of the world, interested, not turning up with shovels en masse. It's kept it in the news though.
