peeriebryan
I'm not sure what you mean. This is how the process should work When you click 'login' on the top left box of the forum pages, you should be taken to the homepage where you are shown the login boxes in the top left When you enter your details, you should remain on the homepage and the 'welcome' message is shown You should then be able to go to the forum pages and remain logged in At what stage are you having problems? Guest Anonymous
It's likely me just not switched on enough, but, when I try to reply to a post and I am not logged in, a log in screen pops up. Trying to log in there doesn't work for me although as you point out clicking on the left hand box works ok and I am returned to the main page, and have to look for the forum post again. If the pop-up log in thing doesn't work, why is it there? Cheers,Da Auld Een,
Guest Anonymous
Ahhhh!!!OK Bryan,Ignore previous posts,,, I've found that it is OK with IE6,,It's damned Firefox that has the problem,, Should have known.. But may be worth checking into it incase other firefox users are hacked off with same problem.. Cheers,Da Auld Een
Carlos
I have the same thing, I have the "new posts" search as my bookmark, but can't log in on that page even when the login panels come up, it just recycles to asking for the login again, have to go to the home page and then back. Not really had a good look through the Firefox setup to see if it is blocking too many scripts though....
peeriebryan
OK Auld Een Firefox on the PC seems to be acting the giddy goat at the moment, with login problems and post indicators and suchlike. We'll have to work on that To clarify, when you say "Trying to log in there doesn't work for me", what happens? Which screen are you taken to? Are you shown a warning or something? HacksawDuggan
I've had the same problem. I go to the home page, sign in, and it says i'm signed in. Then when i click on the forum tab, suddenly i'm not signed in anymore. Sometimes this happens, other times its works perfect, other times i'm signed in but the new post indicators don't work. Using firefox too.
Guest Anonymous
Bryan,I think Carlos described the problem well enough, as he says the login popup just recycles, asking for info again.. 1st time it happened I thought the site was faulty and gave up for a day or two, until I accidentally tried the main log in.It's just a minor irritation so don't worry about it,, Firefox has so many quirks that I'm used to it. I just like firefox because any program is preferable to bending over and getting shafted by Bill Gates for all my software needs..
peeriebryan
As a work around, try logging in at the following URL while we try to figure out the problem www.shetlink.com/forum/login.php It a particularly tricky bug to pinpoint as there doesn't seem to be any regular pattern, and it hasn't happened to any of us (yet!) Is everyone who is having similar problems using Firefox on a PC?
Fifi
I'm getting the same as the OP. Not logged in -> if I read a post and go to reply then you get a login page -> doesn't accept it and goes back to empty login boxes again. Only way to login is from the left hand panel. Also, the 'keep logged in' feature doesn't seem to be working again for me. For me, these are both fairly minor problems, although a bit annoying having to keep logging in. But as I say, minor gripes in the scheme of things. And appreciative of all the hard work that goes in. IE6.
peeriebryan
The 'keep me logged in' box is disabled while we try to narrow down the problem Could I ask everyone experiencing the problem to logout and log back in again using www.shetlink.com/forum/login.php and report back I'm afraid I'm going to have to get on with other stuff today so the problem won't be fixed until the Trout and I get a bit of slack time. But please keep leaving feedback here as we need as much detailed info as possible to deduce what's happening It's not everyday I wish I was experiencing the same computer problems as everyone else
Fifi
Could I ask everyone experiencing the problem to logout and log back in again using www.shetlink.com/forum/login.php and report backDid the above -> takes you into the forum but you're not logged in -> go to reply to a post -> brings up the login box but doesn't accept the details -> back to empty login box again. The only way to login appears to be the left hand box.

peeriebryan
A few settings have been changed. Does the left login box appear to be working as it should?
Carlos
For me that one was always working fine, and still is. Just when the center login boxes come that there is no progress.
