If you go to the front door and have a fag, and then toss the fag end away, you will also be liable for a £50 fine for littering! So far I have seen no provision outside of licensed premises for disposal of cigarette ends. Therefore if someone dumps their cigarette end in a bin....Will they get fined for littering or arsonism? This is a very good point. Pubs know this has been coming and really some future planning should have been thought about as they must've realised that people were going to nip outside for a smoke. I can't think it's going to break the bank to get one of those cigarrette bins installed. Styles Posted April 3, 2006 Report Share Posted April 3, 2006 I saw people still smokeing at posers on friday night. They were told off by a bouncer but just lit up again after he had gone. On saturday it was funny seeing all the folk outside so they could smoke. Wonder how may will still be doingt this when its a gale and lashing rain. What happens with that bye law that the police want comes into force that stops people gaining entry to clubs after midnight! Total ridiculse law. Police say that its to stop large groups of people going about later on between 12 and closeing time. Nope, but my post was a bit missleading What actually happened was that the pub manager decided to have a lock-in, as all the other pubs in the area where closed due to trouble between hibs and hearts fans after the derby. He told everyone that the place was officially closed and put the snib on the yale lock. He then lit up before going around and putting ashtrays on all the tables, saying that since the place was officially closed it was was no more a public place and we were his guests! He finally turned the till off at 1am. I was only planning on having a few pints, but as a smoker it was an opportunity i felt i couldn't miss...
