peeriebryan
^ and the guitars he's made for the stars pale into insignificance when you see the one's he's made for his father and himself. Beautiful instruments, and probably the best guitars I've ever played. A man truley at the top of his game (his last guitar was based on the shape of my Warwick bass, so we looked like ZZ Top on stage!)
tirvaluk
To be a celebrity you have to be recognised on the street, and Aly Bain is certainly Shetlands biggest, followed by Peerie Norrie! At least Aly has had his own TV programmes. Ghostrider
Eddie Smith (I think that's what he was called....) also from Sandwick did similar, but was around before Eddie Barclay I think. Every time the council's planning office adds to their infamy I'm reminded of ES's "Peerie Glessy Porch Afore Da Door" song.
MuckleJoannie
This gentleman is several generations removed from Shetland, but the original King of the Cocos Islands was a shetlander.http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/from_our_own_correspondent/6730047.stm
breeksy
He was originally from Shetland and must have delighted in exchanging his frigid homeland for these balmy, sun-kissed isles. Frigid homeland??!!?? I reckon the journalist is from Birmingham....
