khitajrah
People who never, ever, ever have anything nice to say about anything whatsoever! It's bluddy depressing. People who don't try to see things from other points of view and base their cruel and harsh opinions on speculation and hearsay. People who like the ruffling of feathers just for the sake of ruffling feathers. Being loud, angry and opinionated doesn't mean you are right. Say the same to you, if you have proof that I am cruel, never have anything nice to say and base my opinions on hear say feel free to provide the proof. You don't know me at all, not at all, you don't know the background of where my "rant" came from or the context in which I posted it. Least I don't make sweeping assumptions about people though, eh I wasn't thinking of you personally when I wrote that post, although it was inspiration for mine. "You don't know me at all, not at all, you don't know the background of where my "rant" came from or the context in which I posted it." Would you care to elaborate on the "sweeping assumptions" I may be guilty of so that I may have the opportunity to explain myself or apologise, as the case may require? Your sweeping assumptions are the ones I already highlighted, which is pretty much the reason you originally commented that you weren't thinking about my post (you know before you came back and edited it) so you could avoid answering what I asked you, which you still haven't. By admitting my post was inspiration for yours you are essentially accusing me of being all the negative things you said in your post which is why I asked you to substantiate the negativity even if it is by association. That's some assumption. I deleted my query for you to elaborate on my 'sweeping generalisations' as I don't particularly give a toss as to what you think. I say again I was not thinking of you when I posted that post
Evil Inky
Seeing as my name appears at the top in quote marks yes it looks like you're calling me a racist.Or I am just pulling your leg to show how you're all for other people's feathers being ruffled, but react badly when your own feathers are ruffled ? JohanofNess
That's some assumption. I deleted my query for you to elaborate on my 'sweeping generalisations' as I don't particularly give a toss as to what you think. I say again I was not thinking of you when I posted that post <- that is your answer, seeing as how you missed it the first time around. I am perfectly aware that I wrongly assume many things, tis a failing I continually try and address when and where required in order to improve myself as a human being. In this case an explanation/apology is not warranted as I was not thinking of you! Not looking for an apology, just for a certain level of accountability to what is posted in relation to other people. If you genuinely meant no association to your comments being aimed at me then fine, just from where I was sitting you were making comment in my direction. mogling
Why are so many drivers cutting corners at junctions this past few weeks?? I'm not the only one to notice it - other folk have said too. The number of folk that have almost crashed into my car. And they glower at you as they zoom past as if YOU are in the wrong! I would call it lazy, sloppy, selfish and dangerous driving. The junction at Leonard's Garage at The Central in Sandwick is a favourite- I creep along there lippenin to be cut across almost every time. Why is this happening so much? Has it been portrayed on one of these Saturday teevee wannabee type programmes, or popular Soaps as a cool or humourous thing to do??

Ghostrider
^^ I wouldn't pay any attention to the guy, whoever he is. He's just one of a long line of "Victor Meldrew's" who've churned out the same foundless and baseless rants and garbage in the local media over the years. It only proves one thing about them, that they'd have been a whole lot more honest writing a letter which simply said, "I don't like the sound/sight of motorbikes, I demand they are removed from detection by my senses now, and forever". Tellingly, the Bigton yoal races etc, including a beer tent and live music which lasted in to the night I believe, were held on the sand the previous day, yet that apparently was "okay" by Mister whoever he was. No way am I about to believe that a whole day event, with 4x4's and boats on trailers, tractors, competitors and auidence in vehicles, plus those that turned up for the nightime piss up didn't make as much noise, but of a different kind, last much longer throughout the day and night than a few bikes, and didn't trample much, much more sand with wheels, feet, tents, floating landing stages, boats keels etc, etc. The guy clearly only sees and hears what he wants to see and hear, plus his references to "Sunday", "day of rest" or words to that effect, told a story too. If that's his attitude, maybe he should have decided to go sit in a kirk somewhere rather than in a polythene house at the Bigton gate, if it was peace and quiet that was his main goal. Notable that, as long as they stayed on the sands, they were doing the right thing using a beach like St Ninians and not damaging the dunes on one of the protected ones. EM
... using a beach like St Ninians and not damaging the dunes on one of the protected ones.St Ninian's is in fact protected due to being an SSSI. Not for flora or fauna reasons, but for its geology. Scrambling is noted in the listing: St Ninian's SSSI Pdf

If the landowner is ok with them using it for quads whats the problem. if he is not happy then its a police matter.
