daveh
I have had an email alert suggesting that there is a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights tonight although there is no indication as to what time.

Skyumpi
Stopped at the Sandwater loch in the Kames on my way home at about half ten tonight. Great display from directly overhead to the horizon almost all around - like sitting under a giant celestial teepee with a weird swirly thing at the apex
stilldellin
Yep Skyumpi , that wierd swirly thing at the apex is that first pic I posted. Here is one looking east, I think the bright planet is Jupiter. :-http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb479/beenister/nl4.jpg
enkelt skapninger
Beautiful pictures!Sadly not a good view from Aith at the moment, but I'll try again later when the baby wakes me up...! By the way, what shutter speed, aperture etc do you use to get such great photos?
KOYAANISQATSI
Best display I've ever seen; couple of shooting stars to boot. Had been hoping for a show tonight, with comet Elenin coming in to alignment between earth and the Sun on 26th. Last time it aligned; we were in the middle of the birkeland current between it and the sun on the 11 march. Japan Tsunami day. http://covertnews.blogspot.com/2011/02/september-26th-2011-it-approaches.html Hopefully the light show is all we get.
