That is their way. Scotland will have you believe miracles can happen then fluff the one game you would expect them to win..then bingo bango..homeboys bravehearts. ...unless of course Italy persist in the unfathomable folly of fielding old has-been/never-was Del Piero, in which case they deserve to go home for their stupidity. Hmmmmmm, pattern is as dreary as the wallpaper. Italy will take the points.... assuredly now that the've dropped DEL PIERO Also, with new boys DI NATALE and QUALIERELLA, and that lanky beast LUCA TONI they now have a formidable and potentially sensational striking force that was missing during the first stages.The old guard will be back in force, CANNAVARO, MATTERAZZI and ZAMBROTTA, and with the recalled PANUCCI and cheeky devil GROSSO there is no weakness in the back.Italy take a long time to find their feet; like a good Ragu - cooks slow, but all the essential ingredients are there now. I think it would be the GREATEST moment in our entire History if we qualifed and England crashed out! Italy are the most streetwise football team on the planet, even if scotland get a 0-0 draw, Italy will still qualify as they have Faroe in their last game, in Italy which is a definite three points. France will beat Ukraine also as the Ukraine have nothing to play for. I don't view it as glorious failure, anyone who thought we'd be going into the last game needing to win would've taken that at the start of this group. I'm not sure how loud the crowd came across on TV, but it was definitely the most partisan atmosphere I have ever experienced at a fitba match. As soon as the Tartan Army tried to get behind their team they were drowned out by 50000 whistling tattie farmers! The team either took it for granted that they would beat a bunch o teenagers hands down....or they were bricking it. Once outside the ground it was even crazier...the locals were acting like they'd won the world cup! Processions of old wrecked Trabants hairing up the streets, horns blasting, flags waving and guns being fired...all being chased by the cops with sirens blaring!! Thank god for the refuge of Macdonalds!! Watched France v Lithuania once we got back to hotel...Lithuania held their own for most of the match and could have gone ahead.
