Frankie
Slightly off topic here, but I was interested to know whether Rangers Football Club have been penalised for the carnage their fans created in Manchester during and after the UEFA cup final? I am not sure if UEFA can penalise a club for trouble that occurs outside the stadium ?? The Manchester City Council said "99%-plus" of Rangers fans had no involvement in clashes with the police, and that the stabbing of a Zenit fan prior to the match was "an isolated incident". It also estimated that £20m was injected into the local economy as more than 150,000 fans flocked to the city to watch their side lose 2-0 to Zenit, the Russian champions. Sir Richard Leese, leader of Manchester City Council, said: "This report confirms that the problems on the day of the successful Uefa Cup final that was enjoyed by tens of thousands of fans were caused by the drunken and criminal behaviour of a tiny minority unfit to be called football fans." Good try Frankie. If you were living 60 odd years ago you may have taken Goebbels job as propaganda minister. Unfortunately, the minority were still Rangers supporters with Scottish addresses and they have given Scotland a bad name again. Thanks for that!!!!! http://www.sundaymail.co.uk/news/scottish-news/2008/09/07/police-plan-dawn-raids-on-70-rangers-fans-who-were-behind-manchester-riots-78057-20726861/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_UEFA_Cup_Final_riotshttp://www.thespoiler.co.uk/index.php/2008/05/23/rangers-fans-ruin-man-united-party

Frankie
^^^ Please do not take this the wrong way, but it boils down to viewing figures. Rangers have a huge support - Aberdeen do not. Having said that, I am a Celtic supporter and will be watching Aberdeen and wish them all the very best. I agree its disgusting. P.S. I DO NOT SUPPORT CELTIC! Lost the Faith ?? Medziotojas
A'm heard it aa noo. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/7652475.stm Rangers fans prompt Corrie changeGray O'BrienThe Coronation Street character Tony Gordon, with Rosie Webster Coronation Street bosses have changed the script for an episode of the soap after complaints from Rangers fans. Supporters complained after the character Tony Gordon - played by Scottish actor Gray O'Brien - made a jibe about the Glasgow club. O'Brien's character had said: "I could no more be interested in Rosie Webster than I could support Glasgow Rangers." An ITV spokeswoman confirmed that after "dozens" of complaints, the script for a forthcoming episode had been changed. ITV said that line seemed "to have caused some upset". One of the character's lines in a future episode - reported to be a remark that he was allergic to "warm beer, the English national anthem and Glasgow Rangers" - has now been dropped. The spokewoman said: "Both comments were in keeping with the character of Tony Gordon. "But we have to bear in mind that it does seem to have caused some upset so the decision was made to take the line out. "It doesn't compromise the drama of the episode and if it did then the line definitely wouldn't have been taken out." She added: "We also felt in the absence of a character balancing things up on the other side of the Old Firm, it was a line not worth repeating." dB
haha that is absolutely ridiculous, some old firm fans should just get over themselves and remember football is a sport!! "old firm fans" ... ??? Assuming you're referring to the Coronation Street story what exactly does it have to do with Celtic fans...??? Apart from giving us nearly as big a laugh as the Love Street result earlier. Are Rangers fans this season's paranoiacs ... ??? Just wonderin' .. ?? dB
The celtic fans would have been greetin and complainin too if it was the other way round. they're both as bad as each other in my opinion!! I truly can't be arsed getting into a debate on the merits of Rangers fans v Celtic fans. Suffice to say every Celtic fan I know is desperate to drop the O** F*** label, ditch the joint sponsorship deals and distance ourselves from a club which condones racist chants. As for they're both as bad as each other in my opinion!! Time to open your eyes and look beyond the desperate whitewashing of the Scottish media, aka the Laptop Loyal.
