Guest posiedon
By the looks of things everyone is trying to save money by buying small cars and traveling at 40mph. This annoys me more than an extra few quid per tank fill..Check rear view mirror, indicate right, overtake, easy peasy.

jevans
my car doesn't like going over 50, it hates the muppets that insist on trying to drive their little cars and pickups into my back seat even more! the way the roads have been in the morning this last few days even with the gritters being out early, going much over 40 isn't a great option
daveh
Great news for Tesco customers (for a week, anyway) ! http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-2093988/Price-war-fuel-pumps-Tesco-knocks-10p-litre-customers-spend-60-store.html?ITO=1490 Why can't we get some sort of reimbursement back here as well when we shop at the store here? shetlandpeat
There still milking it. http://www.farmersguardian.com/tesco-delivers-two-tier-price-increase/20805.article Talking of two tiers... http://www.thegrocer.co.uk/companies/tesco-blames-two-tier-pricing-on-software-glitch/220201.article So, your prices should increase a little, that will pay for some of that discount south of Fair Isle. Guest posiedon
The first link is from October 1998, the second is from August 2011.Your point is? There still milking it. They're is the contracted form of They are. This form is used in sentences using "they" as the subject of the sentence with the verb "to be" used as either the helping verb (e.g. They're going ..., They're playing ...) or the principal verb of the sentence. Examples: They're working hard this week. They're very interested in helping out. There is used as an introductory subject is sentences with "There is" and "There are". It is also used as an adverb of place meaning "in that place". Examples: There are many people in that room. That's my house over there. Their is the possessive pronoun form. This form is used to express that "they" have a specific quality, or that something belongs to "them". Examples: Their house is in Los Angeles. He liked their looks!Do you get it yet? shetlandpeat
This is either ingenious, or a case of Tesco having its cake and trying to scoff it at the same time: the supermarket has just released details of plans to base promotions and discounts on the incomes of the people living around it, according to The Grocer. 23rd of Jan., this year. They were caught out with the difference in prices, now offering discounts according to regional income. In the press, Shetlands average income is around £600 a week. A double wammy, if you are in a discounted area as to get the further discount you would need to buy more, this would be subsidised by those who will not get the discount. shetlandpeat
So, if a product cost £10, to get the petrol discount u need to buy 6 products. If you are in a discounted area at say 5%, you would need to buy 7 items to get the discount on fuel. Thus buying more than you need. But enough to qualify for the discount on fuel. There are no fuel discounts in Shetland, and due to the reported high average wage you may not get the example of 5%

Petrol and diesel at island pumps can be up to 20p more expensive. GB Oils Ltd, parent company of Scottish Fuels, said it made a margin of just 2.6p a litre on diesel. Non-executive director Sam Chambers told a public meeting in Stornoway on Tuesday that the company was keenly aware of islanders' concerns.
