unlinkedstudent
Dear Sir/Madam at whatever name the Trust is going under these days Please can I have £5 million to set up electric car charging points throughout Shetland? I need these monies in light of the recent hike announced in the budget raising fuel to over £126 a litre here. Whilst I appreciate the budget has not yet taken place, it would appear that many garage forecourts have a hotline to the Chancellor, hence the recent rise in price. I look forward to hearing from you - should I book the required 2 weeks in Cuba now?

Guest Anonymous
Dear electric car user, We are making stinking amounts of profit off you , so there. Any more requests will result in higher still fuel duty and perhaps a few pence hike on income tax , and if that does not silence you working people then we will double your ferry fairs and half the sailings, we hope this satisfies your question. JohanofNess
^ The price of oil is starting to rise again so you'll be seeing that cost coming through at the pump. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8569525.stm

A Salamander Holyrude Dear Sir/Madam Thank you for your swift response. Please note that I am a potential electric car user. Whilst you may be "making stinking amounts of profit off you ... " I was not aware that Northlink had plans to install a merry-go-round on the ferries and I'm sure I am not alone in not wanting my hard earned cash to be spent on such a venture (or should that be "an adventure" during gale force winds as I take it such a merry-go-round would be on the top deck?). I, like many others living here, do not respond lightly to your threats of even higher prices and taxes - just remember where Europe's largest oil terminal is. One would respectfully request that you reconsider my valid request for monies to purchase electric cars and install suitable power points throughout the islands; a recent feasibility study shows that the amount of hot air coming out of our town hall would adequately provide the power for over 15,000 such vehicles with the turbine being placed on its roof. Many thanks.
