Maybe someday.But, we are currently working on the subject at http://www.shetlopedia.com/Category:Islands_of_Shetland , trying to find any details we can.We are only up to 51 isles at the moment, with a lot more to add, and as usual, any suggestions would be very welcome.Especially any stories about the smaller islands which may add interest to the pages. Baxter Posted April 25, 2009 Report Share Posted April 25, 2009 Personally I like Whalsa and Burra, but I'm ruling Burra out of this island debate because its joined to the mainland through trondra by the bridges. burra is still an island even though it has a bridge, i mean if unst had a bridge to yell would it still be an island in its own right??? Can I include Flugga? just been there for 10 days, wonderful place Flugga for 10 days??? thats impressive were u a lighthouse keeper?? or just needin islolation? In my opinion, which i value greatly, Unst is the greatest island in the WORLD never mind shetland, it has everything you need and could ever want!! scenery, sport, relaxation, fun, beaches, restaurants and most of all GREAT PEOPLE. From an interview in the Daily Record The ITV1 series sees Clunes visit islands from the northern tip of Scotland to the south of England. And he revealed one of the biggest highlights was going to Muckle Flugga in Shetland. He said: "To get to the unmanned lighthouse, we had to climb 356 steps - but we had been told not to hang on to the hand rails as they are not safe as no one maintains them. " I'm scared of heights and have this vertigo thing, so it was quite an experience. It really did feel like we were at the end of the Earth." muckleflugga Posted April 26, 2009 Report Share Posted April 26, 2009 ^^^^^^^ That is why there is signs at the landings stating it is unsafe, and there was a chain across the steps at the top stopping us from going down, however it has vanished this past winter! Trow87 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Share Posted May 9, 2009 i'm worked on unst baith od dis past simmers an i hae t say i joost love it! definitely my favourite o da isles. had great times on lots o da idder isles an aa, oxna fir wan, burra, muckle roe, yell, bressa, whalsa. even da skerries. no made it t fair isle, foula or papa stour yet, but i will in time!
