Seems to be theres still alot of folk on the gott exchange still having major connection problems.

Anyone else finding this still an issue ?

Gott exchange = NO INTERNET GRRR

Saw 2 BT vans parked ootside the exchange hut, but still pi$$ poor internet. 25mins to load Shetlink, so went with 3G on the mobile.

That's what I'm getting in Lerwick nearly next door to the exchange. I should be getting 6mb or so. I tried to download the java applet so I could run the speedtest Marvin recommended a few pages back, but it was downloading at 12kb/sec and had 25 hours to go to download, so I kinda gave up on that one! :)

Right ... BT now saying they found the fault and fixed it at 1853 Wednesday and have now closed the job.

So .. unfortunately, if that has not solved the problem, then we are back at the beginning. But maybe they will be in a more listening mode?

Don’t worry folks there’s always somebody waar aff dan wis – I wanted to e-mail some documents that were 4mb files to somebody in the Ooter Hebrides so asked if he had broadband.

His reply was that in his part of the world broadband is when the postie gets on his pushbike!

Fixed it? I can hardly open anything here (Cunningsburgh exchange). I have a very slow connection at the best of times (just 0.25Mbs) but at the moment it's running at about 8-16Kbs (yes Kbs). I can't even open the speed test to find out.

It's very annoying as I even missed the closing date for applying for a job as it can only be done online.

From past experience of BT, what they actually should have said was:

"At 1853 our engineer signed of on the job stating that it was fixed, therefor the job is closed. If we subsequently find out in the morning that he actually had to be home at 1900 for his dinner, and told a lie, then this will mean that a new repair order will have to be created. As with all new jobs there is a timescale to be considered, but we will nevertheless deal with this new fault with the greatest of urgency. In the meantime we would like to apologise to any customer who may have been slightly inconvenienced my this minor fault".

This is just a joke

I'm actually with the Post Office so should I give them a call or is this in the hands of the line owner BT?.

Also, did I not read a post about an expected eta of 06.00 on 10/10/11(Thurs) for getting it all fixed?.

Well, I'm off to bed and will see what damoarn brings.... :(

mine keeps jumping all over the place. It kind of explains the the hassle we had with the Till in Lerwick, made me glad I wasn't in a supermarket, but couldn't get any card transactions to go through.

3 different speed tests
