MJ
After spending over 6months trying to loose our emergency/travel dial-up (it was costing more than the broadband) with tiscali/talktalk could have really used it these last few days. may well set up the BT PayG again for emergencies problem is it doesn't transfer from one line to the other
Sheltieman
ours is so slow - it won't even run a speed test.

Kavi Ugl
Mine is still as poor as ever - somehow I can get Shetlink not bad but I can't even access the Post Office website to get a phone number to call. I wonder how many emailed the link set up by Shetland Broadband to register an idea of how many are affected?.
viblir
Spoke to Plusnet support last night, they aske us to run 3 BT speed checks (www.speedchecker.bt.com) this information is stored on the BT server and is avalible to both BT and Plus net support. Ran checks last night and this morning ranging from 99kbps last night to 22 this morning. This morning Plusnet support has confirmed the DSL signle is sound and is raising a case with BT, due to the slow data exchange.
Marvin
As stated previously in the thread. BT have cleared the fault so all exchanges should operating at normal. In the real world however, Baltasound, Lerwick, Gott, Cunningsburgh, Sumburgh and Burravoe seem to still be struggling.

Unfortunately many users are expriencing speeds so slow that the speedchecker isn't able to work/load.... In many cases the speeds are considerably slower than dial up... jambo6
Last night 66kbps connection - useless Spoke to Plus-Net technical support this lunch time, he reconed my connection was to a "frame" that had problems, he suggested I turn off my router for 1/2 an hour, this would force it to reconnect / link to another "frame" without problems. Plus-Net piggybacks on BT so might be worth a try I tried this last night - vast improvement so thanks for the tip. Still cant ping bt properly but can access pretty much everything else at an acceptable speed.
