One of the UK’s top DJ’s will be hoping to finally make his debut in Shetland next month after weather conditions forced the cancellation of his previously scheduled show last December.

Internationally acclaimed DJ and producer Jon Carter was unable to travel to Shetland for his sell-out gig on December 22nd after foggy weather conditions left him grounded at Gatwick Airport.

Luckily for Shetland dance fans Carter has found space in his busy diary to play at Posers Nightclub on Saturday 1st March.

Jon Carter started his DJ career in 1989,but it was in 1994 that he really started to make his mark, playing alongside The Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim as one of the residents at the Heavenly Social in London.

Jon’s innovative brand of big beat and house, alongside his live project, Monkey Mafia, has made him one of the most sought after DJ’s in the world.

Jon’s production work has seen him collaborate with some of the biggest bands in the world including U2, The Prodigy, Massive Attack & The Happy Mondays for whom he produced their seminal track “24 Hour Party Peopleâ€.

Jon’s public profile was further heightened in 2001 when he married TV and radio celebrity Sara Cox, the couple went on to have a child together but split in 2006.

Recently Carter has never been busier, with residencies at trendy clubs like Fabric, Bugged Out and Home in the UK, as well as a 2-week stint in Ibiza where his fired-up house sets were the talk of the island. Jon also participated in the Salvador festival in Brazil, where atop a huge mobile sound system, the DJ played to an estimated crowd of 3 million!!

Tickets for this hugely anticipated show are on sale now from the Grand Hotel in Lerwick priced at £10.

Jon thoroughly enjoyed his trip to Shetland, the only bad point was that he couldn't stay longer!

I think the highlight of his trip was meeting fellow superstar DJ Charlie Gair over in the Noost, unfortunately the battery had run out on my camera, so i was unable to capture this truly awe-inspiring meeting of two DJing greats!

Anyway Jon is extremely keen to come back, so thanks to everyone for turning out and being part of a great night.
