If people want to hate other people or be bigots, i say let them.

 

Indeed - it is everyone's right to harbour those opinions and feelings should they so desire.

 

However, along with rights come responsibilities - in this case the responsibility to ensure that the law of the land is up held and that others aren't harmed by the manifestation of these views.

You're right, even I don't think it's that simple. Maybe I was being lazy by saying religion is why most OF supporters don't act in a socially acceptable manner. You shouldn't be too hard on me though. When I read something about Celtic or Rangers, I expect to read something about football. I have little interest in the social values of the people living in the West of Scotland.

 

I also expect to read something about sport when reading the sport section of the shetlink forum. Your first post was valid, but somebody really did need to say "MiM is right". Then the thread could have been locked, thus ensuring that only sport is discussed in the sports section.

I think the SPL wont have a choice,the way Rangers fixtures are building up,I can see them having to squeeze in 2 old firm games in one week,the way things are going.

Maybe if both sets of fans moved into the 21st century and left all that Boyne/Athenry pish behind them we could have an OF title decider.

What the hell any of that crap has to do with a football game is beyond me - maybe you can enlighten me, JAS, since I'm so ignorant. :roll

 

What about half the hearts support, they're just as bad at Rangers. And Hibs are quite bad sometimes.

 

It'll always exist, it's just how you best deal with it.
