Ertieiddabanks
The shetland sea anglers website has two record breaking fish caught in january, what fish can be had at this time of year, what bait should be used and where to catch them? michael_balmain
I hear Spiggie is good for sea trout and have seen a few decent ones at St Ninians when I have been snorkelling. Obviously they are ot o season now.Hellister at Kalliness is a fantastic loch for Coalfish. Had 6 on the fly there in one night. Smallest was 2.5 lbs and the largest 6. Nearly all took a lot o the backing off me reel! I wis fishing below the powerlines as the tide was coming in. Absolutely fantastic sport that night. As soon as the fly hit the water you'd see the bow waves as the fish headed to them! It's not quite beach fishing but sandy bottom - The Sletts in town can always be good for a few. So I had ta mak for home, me gut jumped into a fuzzy mess on me real.I never had dat problem we da old Craige wand at least.
MaxFusion
me gut jumped into a fuzzy mess on me real. you have to brake the spool as you cast (with you're thumb) and stop it as the weight hits the water or it'll overrun and give you a nice mess like you found some good tips here
jannjulie
does anyone do any casting for fun - i spent a while last year getting the pendulum going and learnt to throw the lead consistently over 175yds- even reached 200yds on a few occasions, it was fun and i enjoyed the extra control and the option to hit a bait a long way, once or twice it even produced extra fish - is there any interest in a casting day somewhere? MaxFusion
The only time I get a lead that far out is when it breaks free a day sharing techniques mite be worthwhile!
