deardron
Some time ago there was someone who posted online links to audio recordings in Shetland dialect, why not to do it in again a separate thread? It's interesting to have a listen to the live Shetlandic speech.
deardron
Here is this link, "Williamson's generator" admitted by Islandhopper: http://www.ablab.org/shetland/index.html Well, the interface of this webpage is not the easiest thing to deal with and a bit abstract. You should be pressing your SHIFT key and move your mouse in search of expressions that show "talking" on mouse over. After you've pressed it you'll see 3 red squares one of those you need to press and you'll get the audio stream.
Heimdal
There is also the possibility to listen to Shetland voices rather than strong dialect at www.visitshetland.com and click on the webcams link. From this page there is a 'launch our media player' link. As well as Shetland music, Mary Blance and Elma Johnson tell Shetland stories which will perhaps give you a feel of what it sounds like.
