EM
I was reading through the report by Ekos Ltd as presented on Thursday at the Creative Industries Unit Event and came across a sentence which baffles me. In paragraph 2.4 of the section on Economic Context it states the following with respect to the current Shetland economy: ... and there is also high dependency on the energy and water industry (including oil), with the ... Any idea what is meant by water industry?
Marooned in Maywick
Frank Millsop of COPE, I believe, was initiating a water-bottling set-up. Wouldn't have thought that was exactly high-dependency with regard to Shetland's economy. Maybe they were referring to the huge quantities of pure Shetland spring water that were finding their way into Blackwood's products
Carlos
I guess "water and treatment industry" is a just grouping the economists use.The water part would be water treatment and supply, sewage treatment and disposal, water bottling, all that. I imagine the "high dependence" part just comes from Sullom Voe falling into that category.
brokenlink
is this report available to the general public?
EM
What was dished out on Thursday was a paper "Summary Report." No idea if it is currently available anywhere to download, but I presume peeriebryan would be easily able to make it available.
