JAStewart
If that is the case then its probably a server issue from his host or something. I wouldn't look too much into it unless it doesn't come back in like, a week.

north
I think the boat sinking pulled out the extension cord from the mainland. Or more likely if you are a follower of Mr. Al-Fayed, the royal family and MI6 did it to remove the threat to the throne!

sheepshagger
The question you should be asking marlin is why the hell should Shetland and Orkney support Scotland.
Guest Anonymous
A lot is being said about depopulation of small islands. But very little analysis of the reasons for depopulation, which are many and varied. The greatest ever influence on depopulation of small islands, in Shetland history, as far as I can see, was the introduction of compulsory education. Many small islands up to that time had families making a reasonable living/existence from the sea, at a time when that was possible. But the government enforcement of education left little option for the parents, other than moving to the mainland.Shetland has done remarkably well in recent years to maintain schools in the existing small islands. But if that situation becomes unsustainable, then schooling needs could, in the 21st century, still remain the most obvious reason for an island becoming depopulated. I wonder what Forvik's education policy is? Although I know who the first resident needing education is.
