Are these abandoned vehicle notices not 21 days?

you might have it kicking around for a few weeks yet.

Took a few pics this afternoon, notice does say 24Hrs. Time up!

Even though I welcome this action 100%, the fact that it is 24 hours does strike me as being a bit on the short side for normal situations. 24 hours and then removal, fair enough, but 24 hours and then destruction? I'd imagine that such a rule, if poorly executed, could lead to a few genuine (and unrectifiable) mistakes.

What's the chances he'll take up residence in it just to prevent its removal?

If so, it would be nicely appropriate if he wore one of the forvik.net "Tramp!" T-shirts ;-)

5 Recovery of expenses connected with removed vehicles (1)Where a vehicle is removed in pursuance of section 3(1) above the appropriate authority shall be entitled to recover from any person responsible—

(a)such charges as may be prescribed in respect of the removal of the vehicle; and

(b)charges ascertained by reference to a prescribed scale in respect of any period during which the vehicle is in the custody of the authority; and

©where the vehicle is disposed of in pursuance of section 4 above, charges determined in the prescribed manner in respect of its disposal.

I take it he will be paying the costs of removal and disposal and not expecting those of us who do pay our taxes to subsidise his ego trip as usual.

I suspect the removal and disposal costs will be minimal looking at the signature on the notice

Would it be possible to come up with some plan which would prevent this continual debate about Calamity and his crazy schemes.

My idea would be to shoot the SOB. One large headline:

"Da Auld Een does Shetland a favour"

Then perhaps this thread could die with him.
