RileyBKing
Didn't think it was good at all, the TV equivalent of a cut'n'paste newspaper article, lazy and no proper research. Continuity not too hot either...
filskadacat
It was as bad as I thought it'd be, very arrogant in my opinion to come here and say we're all wrong about him after meeting him for a few hours or whatever. Absolutely agree. Patronising in the extreme - from his remarks about the Unst bus stop to the Saturday night concert to taking Hill seriously. Person
Very Good! Only it would have been better if they had moved the land rover off the road before fish boxing it.Is it likely to cause an accident parked where it is?
Michael
Absolutely agree. Patronising in the extreme - from his remarks about the Unst bus stop to the Saturday night concert to taking Hill seriously. I was amazed when he said something like "the way the people of unst deal with their isolation is with a sense of community spirit" as if nowhere else in Britain has a community spirit... He also kept going on like shetlanders couldn't possibly have sky tv, the internet or anything similar!
madasaferret
It's not a photo shop job, ...the trowies struck last night. I am amazed, it had to be trowies, no way would that chasis take a jack under it.....supernatural influlences methinks. It is not parked in the best of places. Fifi
Didn't think it was good at all, the TV equivalent of a cut'n'paste newspaper article, lazy and no proper research. Continuity not too hot either...He appeared to come up from Glasgow in the wrong plane. Then, of course, there were the constant references to "the Shetlands". JohanofNess
^^ Surely a landie would drive out o fishboxes! It possibly could. However, I noticed the "do not use tank" note on the side of the vehicle and my experience of human nature tells me that someone has either a) Filled the tank with sugar emptied the tank of any diesel that might have been in it.c) the tank was emptied then filled with sugar. I watched that clunes show until Hill stamped his passport then almost choked on rage, I get so angry that the clown is given any attention and as for Hill well lets hope the SAS take back Forewick before too long. I also agree that Clunes at times came across as very patronising.

JustMe
Has anyone considered just for a minute what happens if Stuart Hill is right and Shetland can be free. No government meddling in fish quotas, no payment to the crown estates for use of the sea bed, a good chunk of "Scotland's Oil" becomes Shetland's Oil, Northlink becomes Southlink and is run by Shetland and so on. BALLACK
Stuart Hill is right and Shetland can be free. Correction. Stuart Hill is WRONG and Shetland CAN'T be free.
Spinner72
Has anyone considered just for a minute what happens if Stuart Hill is right and Shetland can be free. No government meddling in fish quotas, no payment to the crown estates for use of the sea bed, a good chunk of "Scotland's Oil" becomes Shetland's Oil, Northlink becomes Southlink and is run by Shetland and so on. Thats the real shame in all this. I've always supported the (original) core principle behind the Forvik project, and am pretty confident I'm not the only one, it's just so frustrating that the focus is, naturally, on Mr Hill's eccentricities and money-making schemes. Regarding this land rover stunt, I see the point he's trying to make, but the fact the vehicle has already been registered in the UK prior to its re-registration nullifies the 6 month period it would have been allowed to sit on UK roads if it were truely "foreign". Stuart Hill is WRONG and Shetland CAN'T be free. Why?
misty25
Article on the Shetland News website stating that the cooncil has given him 7 days to remove it. Interesting to see what comes of that, as Stuart Hill is saying that no one has the right to move it.
GypsyScy
Stuart Hill claimed he was selling 8,000 plots to Shetlanders!!!! Does anyone know any Shetlanders who have bought any yet??I was cringing the whole way through that interview it was painful and maddening to watch!! I was stunned at how bad the programme was last night!!! I got the impression Martin Clueless wasn't that enamoured with Shetland in general but just put Unst in for good measure. And I also wondered at what point last summer did Foula move down to Barra???
misty25
The bit where he had to get his passport stamped before setting foot on Forvik was terrible to watch! i certainly won't be going there for my hols!!
