peeriebryan
I'm brand new to Excel, and I'm tryin to do somethin (which should be) simple, but canna suss it. I'm tryin to make a 'chart', but I need to have text scaling on both axis i.e. | Category one||Category two||Caregory three|--------------------------------------------------------Word 1 Word 2 Word 3 Word 4 I can't figure out how to create a chart without having to have at least one numerical axis (i.e. spreadsheet data) Is their any way to tell excel to substitue a number for a word? Any ideas?
Njugle
This is no help at all, but i spent hours (well minutes) trying to figure out the same conundrum, it seems to do every graph except the one i wanted. (probably the same whatever i'd tried though )
peeriebryan
I think I'm going to have to import the graph file into Photoshop and overlay the categories there. But there MUST be a simple way to do it. It seems like a pretty everyday thing to do.....

trout
Cheers Bryan, Thanks .. I was wanting to see a sample of data so I knew what wis "ginin on loik". For anyone else ... the cheeky cheat to create y axis in string form is to: Basically you need to remove the axis by un-checking the y xis checkbox inchart options -> axis, then put in your own stuff by using the drawingtoolbox and putting in textboxes. Not ideal, but does the job
