Carlos
Yeah, been 2 nice finishes so far, not easy to predict, I missed not having a prologue though, but cycling this year in general shows encouraging signs. Let's hope.
Marooned in Maywick
Exciting finish today - 3 of the 4 breakaway riders going for it for the last k. Carlos
Time trial tomorrow, a good chance for David Millar to do well, he was targeting a win and then holding the yellow jersey for a few days, but..... hard to see Cancellara not winning the time trial....... JohanofNess
Used to watch it every year religiously, my brother used to tape it as well so we could watch it back later Think all the doping has put me off it now, when you realise your heroes like Chiappucci, Delgado, Pantani, Riise even possibly LeMond we're accused of or caught taking drugs it makes those superhuman efforts you loved watching just a big sham. As for David Millar can't look at that guy the same since he was caught.
Evil Inky
Cavendish got a stage win, and Millar's third in the GC - wouldn't have predicted that
Marooned in Maywick
There's something lurking in the back of my mind that Cavendish was here with the Isle of Man team in 2005...anyone know one way or t'other?
Carlos
Andrew Roche was the IOM guy here in 2005.... I think Cavendish was in the 2003 games......
BC.Benvie
Tactics There are two sorts of tactics for the overall. The mountain men, like Valverde & Ricco who will attack in the mountains with the help of their team mates and each other to build a lead. Usually as they can not time trial well. Carlos Sastre will do this in the Alps if he is feeling fit. The other guys, Evans & Menchov will ride a steady pace in the mountains and follow wheels all day, this is generally considered boring but they are just not able to vary the pace when it gets steep. If they lose time going up they tend to get team mates and friends to help on the valley roads to limit their losses. Evans & Menchov are happy to wait to the final time trial to win the race. Between now and then its all about not losing!!

Marooned in Maywick
Cheers, Carlos - will be sure to waste some time on that later I see from the official website that Schumacher hasn't retained the yellow - there was some thoughts from the Eurosport commentators he might after his tumble in the last k yesterday. Short stage today...only 159km
