TeeAyBee
^^^ That is one of the downsides of advertising on the side of a vehicle - would you want to do business with someone who behaves that way? Quite a lot of firms south have policies about their employees' driving and are pretty strict with it. I'm sorry that Hellsbells was harrassed in this way by an unthinking inconsiderate driver. There are a fair few up here surprisingly for the population and perhaps someone taking a stand and making a complaint might make a difference, and as Shetlandpeat said, it is rather safer than a road rage incident. Mods, would it be against the T&Cs to name and shame?
JohanofNess
Mods, would it be against the T&Cs to name and shame? Without giving the other driver the chance to get across their version of events I reckon it would be a bit unfair to name the company. TeeAyBee
^^^ Perhaps you're right, but the chances of them actually putting their side is near enough zero. No individual would be named, unlike several other threads on this site, so is it not without precedence?
JustMe
A while ago I did e-mail a local company about the behaviour of one of their drivers. Not sure if the company did anything about the driver but the never bothered replying to my complaint. In future I think any similar complaints will go to the police.........or to their headquarters if it is police driving I want to complain about. Therein lies the problem because they never likely will get to answer the allegations about them its worse that you name them and its even worse a whole company would be tarred with an accusation instead of the one person responsible for the problem. If I was Hellsbells I'd give the company a call and leave it at that, naming and shaming here doesn't really solve anything.

hoosn
there are some firms which do seem quite complacent about fools driving the vans, others take a more sensible approach, but at the end of the day its actually folks lives on the line when fools are on the road. hellsbells
I am driving a new car that has controls for the accelerator and brake on the steering wheel. I posted my comments here as I had a touch of the old road rage a lot of us experience from time to time. ( This topic is called drivers so bad that they provoke road rage ) I was angry as I have the right to drive at a reasonable speed which I think was causing the problem. I was driving at 45-50 mph. I didn't mean for my post to be seen as having a moan and I have considered phoning the company to complain as I was kinda freaked oot by it so if that makes me sound pathetic so what. You can report such things to the police, you do need a full desription of the vehicle and the driver, but the police should at least send a warning letter to the vehicles owner if these things are common. But, don't not do it, then nothing will happen..
Shoogler
Have to completely agree with the sentiments of hellsbells and others above and would also (and have) phone a company or organisation if there were works vehicles being driven in a manner that antagonises or endangers others. However, if you all prefer we could start doing it innocently on here! I'll start the ball rolling shall I? Malakoff vans, both red and white (Reg No's can be provided if we are going to do this properly). There are 2 in particular (and yes I can ID the drivers, but not always the same ones). Both in LK and Scalloway these guys are an accident waiting to happen, watch this space.
shetlandpeat
Ooooh, it should stop now. I don't think this medium is for alienating companies because of an indeviduals recomendations. Just phone the company yourself and tell them, this is a cowards way. And could see Shetlink in court for some sort of deformation.
