MuckleJoannie
apparently our school only needs to give us 48hrs notice of closure due to strikes. So can anyone confirm the next strike is due on 6th October? I think I heeard on the radio that the next strike would only involve council call centres. looking on the Unison website the only info I could find was this press release UNISON points out in the letter that it will also be writing to Scottish Councils warning them of further selective strikes, due to begin on the 6 October should they be required. MJ
Thanks for thatthis appeared as well http://www.shetland-news.co.uk/news_09_2008/Shetland%20escapes%20next%20council%20strike.htmShetland branch chairman of Unison, Brian Smith, said the call centres strike is the start of selective action to pursue the pay claim. There had been discussion about the next round of action in Shetland but nothing had been confirmed yet, he said. “The different unions are investigating selective action. The first action will be on the 6 October, but involves call centre staff of a type we don’t have in Shetland. It does not affect us in this case.†
