Minor rant coming on....

1. The braying idiots on the review show. Everything is "incredibly" and "absolutely" and so... caffeinated..and aware of having to be vibrant and interesting coz 'm on tele and I get paid for this, so I have to be good or they won't have me back on.

I just cannot bear to listen to these twunts waffle on about the latest cheeseburger of a harry potter fillum, or indeed anything else. They so dilute the power of any good art by their babbling, giggling self-importance that they should be taken away and dumped in the middle of nowhere so that they can feeel how "incredible" the real life is which inspires the art they so carelessly feed on. The way they were talking about the exhibition of dead Mexican women just left me open mouthed.Ghouls and farking vampires.Grrrr.

2. Cretins who change the setttings on the toaster. Nuff said.

Those who claim all they are and own is down to their own efforts alone.

Absolute Bulloks

If they were put on a desert island, could they do the same, no, they benefit on the labours of those who have gone before them and those who are active in a community.

Yeah, right Pete, another load of the usual sharn that we expect from you now.

Here's a little scenario for you.

If you were to put two guys on two similar desert islands, with the same available resources, and told them to get on with it.

Lets say one guy who has been a dole bludger/smack head/lazy git all his life

The other guy will be someone who realized that the world is not going to hand everything to them on a plate and has got up off his ass and built their own business from the ground up.

Who would you put your money on to survive?

I know who I would be placing a small wager on.

Also agree with the toaster, why do people do that.

Just had a blot, am spending evening slobbing in front of the fire in my PJ's - so why is it that the 30 second roasting hot blast I gave my hair has resulted in a 'just left the salon' look, whilst the half hour primping and preening I lavish on it before a night out results in a style that any bird would be proud to call 'home'!

Probably the guy who has had little all his life, but hey, how about creating a biased scenario to prove ones own set of prejudices and lack of confidence in folk.

How about this then, two guys who family and money gave them everything.

Another case of making something from nothing.

I did not mention the status of the man, but, hang on, the homeless drug addict who started the Big Issue, do you mean him.

But, I guess they both would die.

I can see why folks may want to leave Shetland, it appears that there is no hope unless you are already successful, then you have to buy in skills from overseas. From those no hopers.

What I don't understand is the amount of pernicious intent folk attach to their posts. It seems perhaps a lack of willingness to understand, to reason, to believe or the biggest maybe the lack of compassion. But I guess that may be only here, where it is so easy to lambast folk.

Does this show perhaps that folk cannot debate or air their views without the threat of violence or suffer intimidation in the non-digital world. That is a real shame, as we are here to forward us. Folk seem happy to section a particular trait and treat them all the same yet if caught speeding or parking incorrectly expect leniency and dispensation for an act of selfishness, lack of respect and neglect.

Many folk who were continually told they were no good will carry on being so. The shows on TeeVee about how to control kids shows that you have to give them encouragement to get them to progress. Many deemed a failure in their early years found one spark if inspiration and are very successful.

Perhaps folks have given up on society. Where minor things are trivialised. The police are not on street corners clipping younguns ears and marching them home for the parents to take responsibility to act upon some sort of punishment on them.

Folk park where they want, folk take what they want and where folk sit back nowadays and do nothing except throw balloons at the TeeVee (metaphor).

Oh, forgot to actually answer your made up scenario.

I could say that the guy who built his business up may have relied on the already established infrastructure (oh yer, that is wot I said originally). Then also he was an academic, not too good with his hands. But it gets cold at night, he needs a fire. He has worked out how to do it but, hmm, needs someone who may have done it in the past. Ah, the other guy. But, he has nothing to give the other guy in exchange fore his fire lighting skills he picked up watching endless Ray Mears programs on DAVE sittin at home. So, the deemed clever guy makes him a promise, I will reward you if you show me, but, he can only reward him with what the firelighter has already given him, or, go out to collect wood for the fire so the DAVE fan can keep the fire going. Now that the DAVE guy has fire, he can cook, the academic will have to borrow again. The DAVE fan has enough of this freeloader and tells him he will have to work together to make the best of things, because, although in a past life the DAVE fan may have not contributed, he also watched The Open University, so he has brains, and from watching examples of business models on TeeVee being exampled upon he knows what is good for the two island nations.

Just a bit of sillyness, something I just made up to prove a point..

It isn't real, but we could continue to provide such distractions and never really do anything except write a book of sillyness.

Let me guess the bit your gonna quote from....

Incomers who move here constantly moaning, and find the way we run our affairs.... "quite frankly, astounding" :!:

You really do appear to have a problem with me and perhaps other incomers, don't you, smaadrink? Me thinks it is about time I spoke to the Mods about your attitude towards me unless you apologise. Over 90% of your recent posts are usually having a dig at something I've said - why's that then? You only have a problem with me?

Thankfully, I have met some very nice and welcoming people here. Oh, and for your information, I have praised certain things here too.

Go get a life.
